If people don't want to talk about park they can chose to not talk about him. It's not my choice. Don't post in the park thread if you don't want to talk about him. It's not very hard and the thread will go to the 2nd page in no time. I would post more in other threads if I didn't spend all my time explaining myself and defending my right to post my opinion in an open forum. Because no one is frigging interested anymore. He's gone he wasn't very good for us and no one harbours any malice towards the guy so leave it out he will never be in a Rangers shirt again. Madara, I think you have every right to post about Park or any other QPR player. I think Bon is out of line in criticizing you under the pretense of "advice", but he does this with everyone really, as I have experienced in the past. Bon is more focused on "keeping the peace" between local and international fans regardless of the subject matter, so I would not spend too much time thinking about why he would single you out instead of those who were bullying you in an effort to keep you quiet. Bon is more concerned about fitting in and getting along with local fans than the right of expressing one's own views. He really should have sent you a PM, but instead posted this in your Park thread, and then started this thread as well, and that makes me question the sincerity of his "advice".
Personally, I think there needs to be more specific rules which better define and prohibit bullying. In most cases, a handful of people try to abuse a forum member into yielding or shutting up. Even if the subject is unpopular, as long as the subject matter is relevant to the particular forum and the poster adhered to the forum rules, it should only be responded to in a constructive discussion, banter, or silence. Not abuse or bullying like we see on the boards every day.
My own advice to you would be to start reporting posts made in response to yours which attempt to abuse or bully you. Perhaps the mods won't act right away, since usually the abuse or bullying is not evident enough from one post, and the current rules do not define it very well, but reporting is usually the only way to get the mod team thinking about it. It also may be less stressful for you to not open new threads about Park for a while, you know how the usual suspects will respond while most people just read silently.
@ Bon, I think you do not know enough about living overseas, or life in general, to offer this kind of advice, and you need to be more respectful of other international members' opinions. It is fine that you value "keeping the peace" above expressing one's opinion, especially since you are not a moderator anymore, but it is still not appropriate for you to tell other members not to speak their thoughts, as long as they adhere to the forum rules and are not trolling. Madara obviously is not trolling, the man usually puts more thought into his posts than you do. You did it in a less abrasive manner, which does mean something, but you did effectively tell madara to shut up, just like some other posters in his thread.Comment
