Likewise, so are you with posts like that, when all a grown up needs to do is not bite so easily, stop acting like a child, or put them on ignore if it really is that difficult to control your temper tantrums.
Pretty pathetic behaviour from both sides of the debate if you ask me.
I was very supportive of our new Korean fans at first. Not their fault that they have a different outlook to the vast majority of us. That's not to say they are wrong, just different. But to keep on baiting others, knowing full well the reaction it causes, (ridiculously so, in my opinion), is hardly making an attempt to fit in. Just as the hostility towards them is not particularly bright either.
The only one I have met in person is Bon, who I must say was a very pleasant, knowledgable and respectful young man. Shame the others cannot follow his example.

Brighton, I hope you do not mean that I just baited Rangers77 into abusing me. I was genuinely glad that the posts had become more pleasant. I put in a one-line response to thank those who posted more recently, implicitly including Rangers77, for responding with thought and moderation. Then look at his responding posts.
During my entire time here, I have probably created 3 or 4 threads, of which 1 or 2 were about Park. Most of my posts are responses to currently existing threads. I do not flood the forums with posts, and I almost never overly praise Park. You may be aware of this, but I always acknowledge others' rights to their own opinions of Park, although the courtesy is often not returned.
If you have been disappointed by the quality of my posts, that is regrettable, but if you mean that I (or madara) are asking for abuse and thus deserve it, I would also be disappointed.
The majority of threads on this forum praising Park have actually come from Bon, often met with ridicule, but Bon smiles off the abuse and tries to assimilate. I do understand that he has good intentions, but you cannot ask that I also just suck it up and do the same.Last edited by Joon; 27-08-2013, 03:06 AM.

Originally posted by Rangers77 View PostYeah. I guess so. It was a joke, mind. I suppose on reflection you guys were/ are right. Can't fault the logic in your longer post, but the thing is these two Park fanboy bores get right up my nose. And I'm not the only one. That's their intention. They're not Rs fans. And this is an Rs fans forum. They simply come here to wind us up. Your advice, that of Stanley and TW, to ignore the jokers, is the right advice but something ought be done about two trolls being able to pi ss loads of other people off. Cheers.

No, I did not mean you baited anyone. No, I don't think you have done anything to deserve abuse. And no, I am certainly not disappointed in the quality of your posts. In fact, you may well remember me praising the early ones, if for no other reason than your excellent command of the English language. Perhaps it would have been better to use the phrase "those obsessed by Park", rather than lump all Park fans and Koreans together.
I have been going to Rangers for over 40 years now and I think I can safely say that the majority of Rangers fans have no problem at all with foreign fans, wherever they happen to be from. Most of us welcome them and see the positives that it brings. However, the situation that has arisen on this messageboard, has been brought about solely in my opinion, not by people's nationality, but by their obsessive behaviour towards one individual. Like him, by all means. But those that do, really should learn to grasp the basic facts that this forum is full of Rangers fans. So get talking to us about the R's, our history, our fans, our old players. In doing so, you will learn a lot and have much more enjoyable interaction with what in the main is a pretty good bunch of people, with one thing in common. And please don't think of us all as anti-Korean or even anti-Park, as we are not. Well, at least we weren't, until we were subjected to such hero worship of one player who as far as most of us are concerned was simply very poor, along with the vast majority of the rest of the team.
If it makes you feel any better, we had a similar situation once with some fans of Adel Taraabt. They would talk about him and post up videos of him, but they were indulged to a greater degree due to some of the wonderful moments he provided us with.
Having said all that, there is no excuse for some of the behaviour towards certain new posters. We don't have to get into pointless arguments with others when it can be easily avoided. But in fairness, I'm sure even you will acknowledge that although some of the reaction has been well over the top, it was sort of provoked. Many of the posters on here have suggested a more inclusive type of behaviour, but their pleas appear to have been largely ignore.

Thanks for the clarification, Brighton. I do remember your posts and PM, and I am aware that most of our fellow fans are friendly and moderate. I also understand your dilemma and agree that it is not a good idea for new fans such as myself to focus too much on Park or any single player. Hopefully, it will now be a lot easier to avoid that, since Park will be at PSV for the rest of the season. I will give it more effort.
I think that everyone who posted in or responded to this thread had a right (and reason) to do so, including those who expressed annoyance or distaste at the topic or timing of the thread. It was just the degree and direction to which some posters took it that compelled me to continue posting after the translation.Last edited by Joon; 27-08-2013, 06:12 AM.

Rangers77 has been banned for 24 hours for incessantly attacking fellow-posters. Hopefully this will be enough because next time the ban will be longer. Please respect our forum rules. If you feel hostile towards a fellow-poster, just refrain from venting it here, such behaviour is not welcome. Be civil or be quiet.Banning people is no longer my hobby,
