I have to admit that I have got more excited about the signings this season, especially Austin, Simpson and Phillips then I did about any of the super stars the last two seasons.
The business we have done this season reminds me of how we used to operate when I first started following the club. Young up and coming players with potential and time in front of them i.e. Sinclair, Peacock and Ferdinand etc added to experienced heads who have been there and done it Wilkins, Palmer and Furlong (I am sure you guys can name others)
Feels like we have taken the first step towards getting back to what this club was built on and does best i.e. get them in cheap and sell at a premium when the time is right (Self sufficient)
There is certainly a place for big name players if we were to go up again but maybe two or three lets not flood the place with them again but rather drip feed them in
