Theses markets are a bookies dream as soon as a little bit of money goes down then they slash the odds.
Then the player changes his mind and talks to Fulham so everybody gets on.
Then saldaldo gets injured and the bookies keep the money.

As I said before we might have a chance while no Premiership club is interested in him, but if that changes then you can rule us out.
Not an expert but I remember reading about it that for real events with massive turnovers, horse racing for example, bookies as you say employ experts and computer programs and analyse everything to death to get as much money as possible.
But player transfers are treated as small time loss leaders, designed to promote their brand and get their name into the media, with a very low turnover of bets too. which is why they suspend betting on transfers so often because the odds are more for promotion more than anything else.
When was the last time you heard a bookie suspending bets on the grand national. They are not the same thing which was my point about not putting too much store by player transfer odds.

Probably about 10 prem sides would want him if available

            doubt we'll get him.

reckon if we did it would go sour anyway! defoe is very wasteful, about to turn 31 and would demand 60/70k+

More chance of me getting home from work to find Scarlett Johansson and Megan Fox waiting on the King size asking me to join them, with the wife in the corner saying go for it Del with Camcorder in hand.....

Who would ya sling one through first?
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

come on ......seriously?.....we've been used by 2 players already, we're not going to sign a player of this standard.Let's look at players that might be in our range, Sharp maybe,.....make an offer for Rhodes see what the Venky's reaction is...

Delusional to think he will come to us

Obviously a Prem club will come swooping in if we agree a fee with Spurs

Should know this by now with the Hooper and Parker scenario

                            100% this.

Would think maybe between 6-10 Premier League clubs would sign him if he was available.

Am i right in thinking that apart from Soldado, Defoe is the only out and out striker at the club?

We go after every man and his dog, if I was a player or a player's agent trying to get a move, I'd link us with them in a flash. Flush out the real interest. Kind of like what 'Arry did with us and the Ukraine job.

                              Although this may seem unlikely there are a few points which put us in a good position;

                              1. he seems to have a good relationship with H.Redknapp
                              2. somebody said that Defoe himself has said he want to stay in London
                              3. we can pay him more than most other Premiership clubs that may be interested in him
                              4. he pretty much has a nailed-on spot in the England squad as most of the other options for the squad are ****, inconsistent and always injured
                              5. doesnt look like he's guaranteed a starting place at Spurs

                              So, fingers crossed,you never know

Exactly the same points applied to parker and look what happened there. No chance in hell of defoe coming to qpr.
