  • JUST HEARD - some mummerings RE: QPR & Jermain Defoe...

Done some digging and can confirm there are also rumours flying around the betting circles (specifically in the last 10 mins) regarding us signing him. And to top this my mate has just said a very large single punt and a ramped up amount of activity has all been seen on. Defoe now into 2/1 to join us from 5/1. Watch the exchanges over the next few hours and make of it what you want...

      IM

Im getting exactly the same rumblings from norholt from the same source ive just had a 500 pound bet rejected ,i expect the bets to be suspended soon the reason why defoe is that tottenham know the 6 million bid we have put in is too good to turn down and next season andros could join the first team so its seen as a ntural progression dont forget tottenham only payed ten million so to get six back after 100 goals must be good buisness

Bookies odds on transfers mean sweet fa 99% of the time - just a way to get their name mentioned and encourage gambling.
And if Defoe leaves Spurs an EPL club will offer more money for him and more wages same as Fulham did with Parker. So why would this outcome be any different?

its true, redknapp was told if he could shift some of the deadwood he could have one high profile striker,at any amout of money so hes chosen defoe at this level he will get thirty goals

I don't think for one minute this will happen but I recall someone saying Defoe wanted to stay in London?
Well I can't see him at Arsenal or Chelsea; surely Fulham have done their dough now and that leaves West Ham in the PL?
Their chairman said categorically the other day that with Downing signed, they had no more money for wages unless they sold first, but they did still want a striker.
So now, if Defoe is going to stay in London he either sits it out at Spurs, west Ham shell several players to make space on the wage bill or Uncle Harry has a chance?
I don't think it will happen but it does has a slight squeak of a chance and more so than Hooper and Parker because there were suitors in a position to buy them. Just saying like.

QPR should charge agents fees the number of players we've helped get new jobs this summer !
