MIDFIELDER Gary O’Neil believes how QPR perform on the road could be the secret to success this season.
Rangers face two difficult away matches at Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United over the next fortnight.
Having recorded two wins already at Loftus Road, the R’s will travel north in search of their first three points away from west London.
And the 30-year-old believes QPR can be optimistic of returning to London with something to show for their efforts.
“When teams come to Loftus Road perhaps we are seen as a big scalp with team sometimes performing above where they normally would,” the former Middlesbrough and Portsmouth midfielder told www.qpr.co.uk.
“We had it at West Ham, our home form really struggled in the Championship and our away form was much better with less pressure of teams coming at us.
“We go into each match looking to win. Bolton and Leeds are going to be tough ones but if we have a fully fit squad available we go into every game with a decent chance.
“The players here know what this division is about as there are not many here that haven’t played in it and done well.
“We are under no illusions that it won’t always be pretty. Most of it is a grind and you have to make sure you don’t concede goals. Then when you have the attacking players we do they can win you games, especially tight ones that are 0-0.
“We’ve got two wins from two at home now which is a great start and if we are looking to get promoted we need to make sure we carry that on.”
O’Neil made his QPR debut in Saturday’s 1-0 win against Ipswich Town as a second half substitute.
