He's playing well this season and if he stays then we'll have one of the best players in the division- Can't argue with that. Just can't get my head round the way everyone is falling over themselves to congratualte him and idolise him. He owes us massively IMO. First 3 games are just the start of paying that back.
      Exactly this.

How many second chances has he had now?

About time he grew up, and if we have to keep him, he needs to keep his nose clean and keep up this start.

Have been quite vocal during pre season that I'm not a fan. I have been impressed with him so far, but will reserve judgement to see how he plays when the transfer window shuts.

4 decent games against mid table Championship teams doesn't suddenly mean he is the messiah.

Come on Deeps. That was pretty much the only bad thing he did on the field since he has been here. Always getting fouled by players trying to wind him up and even got sent off against Norwich for doing nothing. He gets no protection at all from refs and that is unfair as it is all down to his past reputation, which he obviously has to take responsibilty for.

The club should have backed him fully. Let's not forget that he was quite willing not to be paid whilst he was out of contention due to his suspension. Quite rightly too, as he deserved proper punishment, but it wasn't a pre meditated act.

Instead of doing so, the club under the completely useless misguidance of Hughes, acted in a way that would have caused probably every single player to get the right hump. In doing so of course, just about waived goodbye to us getting anything back on him if we really felt he should no longer be a part of our club.

Of course he isn't a world beater or without his issues, but he is a damn good footballer, easily good enough to help us get promoted at the first attempt. Which by the way, we should, based upon the squad at the manager's disposal.

His performances were pretty horrendous too.

The idea that the club should have backed him fully after what he did at City is nothing short of insane IMO. What kind of message does that send out? But each to their own.

I hope you're not going to try and get us to believe that saint Joey is not totally motivated by money......

Can't we just enjoy his current performances and hope for many more rather than try to make him out as some sort of hard done by hero?.........

The way the club and fans alike, treated him after that was a travesty imho. Just cos of his reputation I think. If Mark Dennis or Gavin McGuire had of fought like that for Rangers I think they would of been carried all the way home from Manchester.

hang on....are you me in disguise. should be our capt and he never dissed the club..all he did was say he wanted to be at Marseille after hughes made it clear he wasn't wanted...tony's only culpable mistake

Not surprised at all, beyond the shock factor of someone totally losing their mind on a football pitch.

We a knew it was a risk when we signed him, but as I recall we mostly viewed it as a clean slate at the time and he should be judged on his behaviour at QPR.

And yet again here we are, giving him another second chance, mainly because the player for whom "it's not about the money" wasn't prepared to take a pay cut to go the team he claimed he wanted to play for.

im not giving him second chances..excellent player...don't care about his off pitch antics....well though of in the team and at other clubs....most unpopular at qpr for some reason..
in the scheme of things man city was nothing. he was already off technically so it could make no difference to the result. the red was a refs mistake...

its not about chances...welcome back capt JB...lets hope he stays and plays like he can
