Get real fella. Long as when selected he gives his all that is the main issue.
It's not just 3 good games either. It's the gulf in class and ability he has shown in them. If we want to get promoted Barton will be key to that. You can tell that after 1 game not 3.
Yes he's played very well, but we're 3 games in for crying out loud. As I said, he's got a long way to go to make up for everything and in all honesty he should be in the top 3 players in this division.
I still wouldn't be at all surprised if he left before Sept 2nd.

Don't want to come here as a Newman and pee people off, but I was so proud of Bartons passion wanting to Müller those City players. He did that for our club coz we were on the brink of going down. His heart was in it for our club cos he didn't want to lose. The way the club and fans alike, treated him after that was a travesty imho. Just cos of his reputation I think. If Mark Dennis or Gavin McGuire had of fought like that for Rangers I think they would of been carried all the way home from Manchester.Last edited by Kevin Mcleod; 20-08-2013, 12:44 PM.

I've always had quite mixed feelings about Barton.
When's his head's right he's a cracking player, you could argue that until this season his head's never been right at QPR. At the same time I think the way that Mark Hughes handled the whole Barton vs Tevez affair was nothing short of atrocious and I said that at the time. Then there's the flip side where I think that a lot of Barton's behavior is inexcusable, it's simply unacceptable for a professional on a huge salary to conduct themselves as poorly as he has publicly, slating the club and players at times and trying to engineer a move for himself.
The bottom line is I was one those saying that he needed to go, on this occasion I am very happy to have be proven wrong. At the same time there is this little nagging feeling in me that says that it's only a matter of time before Joey hits the self destruct button again!Last edited by Tarbie; 20-08-2013, 01:20 PM.

I think the point is that we have seen 2 different Joey Bartons. The one we had 2 years ago had attitude, created problems with other players with his abuse on and off the pitch and didn't give a fu*k about our club or supporters hence he kept on making comments via twitter. Now, the new Joey Barton seems to of calmed down and is letting his talking show with his performances. So for those who slagged him off had every right but everyone deserves a second chance if they can prove that they can change in which it seems he has. Some will say he is only doing it as his in the shop window but have you thought it may just be that he has seen that nobody has made an approach for him so he has realised that he has to knuckle down to save his career, we will see.

I wanted him out, without a shadown of a doubt. Useless for us on the pitch and nothing but a pr1ck off it. Never known a player to treat the club he plays for with such contempt. Would Gallen, Ainsworth, Fedinand, Holloway and countless others ever dream of saying some of the things he's said? No. Becuase they actaully had respect for the club and the fans. 3 very good games in the Championship and suddenly everyones going mad for him? Short memories. He's doing what he's paid a small fortune each week to do. He should be head and shoulders above every other midfielder in the league. Lets not forget he did say he would walk into the Enlgand team only a few months ago?
Lets wait and see where he is and where we are at the end of the season before we start lording it up about him, not 3 games in.
He's no angel granted, but he is going to be the difference for us if we are to go straight back up.

Just wondering if those same people still hold the same opinion now.... and you know who you are. Or whether you have reached the same conclusion a few of us reached yonks ago that despite being an idiot at times off the field, with him playing he is the best chance we have of getting promotion and he actually is a very good player for many reasons. Without him playing our chances of promotion decrease big time.
He is a very good player, brings the best out of others and is actually uniting the dressing room. Yes he has had a few good or very good games but you can tell from watching him he is a class above the Championship. Do some people still want rid of him despite the fact his loss would not be the best for QPR on the pitch??

Club treated him like sh1t after Man City. That laughing stock Hughesless cut our noses off to spite our face by running him out of town. I've always wanted him back. He's a very interesting human being. And has been proving himself a top player.

As bad as it might have looked to the neutrals, he cared about our club. Maybe too much at that moment. And certainly more than the vast majority have shown since.
