i would agree with this. sign matt philips who is injured till october and in the meantime have townsend on loan for two months.

shame that townsend is no longer for sale though.

Yes forgot that. Looks like no chance then. As Hitman said let's sign Matt Phillips.

If Spurs sign more players and keep Bale then a loan at the end of the window is possible, or after the window as we can still get loans. I still think he'll be sold before the window but to a prem team.

Yes, he did say something along those lines - http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/49...cer-chadli.htm

"I think I either give it a go at Tottenham, get more game time, or look to move on a more permanent basis," Townsend was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

"I've had nine loans now. I enjoy going out on loan because it means I'm playing games. I'm not young anymore - I'm 22. In football terms, I'm getting on a bit and I want to play sustained football on a permanent basis."

As I said yesterday, it seems like the Phillips thing is back on and moving ahead but I take it as pure speculation because I have no prior knowledge of the credentials of the person who told me this. I'm hoping it's true because he would be a decent addition

Harry Redknapp gives up on Andros Townsend bid

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp conceded defeat today in his attempts to sign Andros Townsend on a permanent deal from Tottenham.

Redknapp is a huge admirer of the 22-year-old (above) having worked with him while in charge of Spurs and then taking him on loan to QPR for the second half of last season.
