It was more like 3.5/4. Which was abit of gamble given his age. And seeing as he has almost never been fully fit, it probably hasn't quite paid off.
Still have a player who has proven himself at the top level and will hopefully come good in the champ (no way we can pass judegment yet). He wont score 20+ goals though. Your just gonna have to accept he was never that kind of player.
But in reponse anyway I give you all the shite players we signed before we had top dolla. And got into debt paying money we didn't have on fees to agents (who usually had some kind of connection to a certain Italian who shall remain nameless.) The like of big Bob Malcom, Stefan Moore, Arthur Gnohere, Nick Ward, Armel Tchakounte, Tommassi?! ZESH REHMAN (the poor sod)
Then came the like of JOSE BOSINGWA
Before that (before my time) it sounds like we spunked all the money we got for Sir Les on pure rubbish.
In conclusion. CHILL YA BEANS. We've done better business than the Zamora deal. And I'm sure we'll do worse
But we are no longer scraping the barrel or relying on dodgy deals. We are no longer rattling buckets outside Loftus Rd to pay for players like Doudou direct from our own pockets.
We won at home today. Have a few beers and enjoy the memory of those Ipswich faces in the 90th minute.
And lay off the Frenchies. You'll offend my Mrs.

Boswinga was a free transfer and was fit so is nowhere near as a shite transfer as Zamora.
A fit Zamora would run this league ragged, but unfortunately injuries are part of the game and what we've ended up with is a shadow of the player Zamora once was. This is the gamble you take when you sign older players and I hope the board have learnt from this.
Still the fact remains that booing Bobby ain't helping anyone. Whether you choose to see it or not the guy is doing his best, his preformances are being seriously hampered by injury.

I'm sure TF and board members have learnt a harsh lesson and realise they they got it completely right in appointing HR as manager (more by luck than judgement) and when they come to appoint a new manager they wont just go down the route of pulling the first big name out of the hat

He wasn't that bad yesterday, just everyone focuses on every mistake he makes, and then groans and moans about it.
There was a div sitting next to me who started on him as soon as the game kicked off, this wound me up and so had a go at this tw@t and made a point of cheering every good thing he did, and he soon gave up.
Look we all know he's not fit but completely pointless going on and on about how sh1te he is as he is one of the 3 strikers we've got at the moment so gonna have to stick with him for time being.
As for booing him on match days if people are that stupid to do it in the first place, there's no point in even explaining to them why not to do it as they are too thick to understand.

Bobby is an interesting debate. I was chuffed when we signed him but other then the first four months from we he signed (I thought he played his part in keeping us up) he has been a shadow of the player he was at Fulham.
I watched him closely yesterday and in fairness to him he does take some treatment from centre backs which the ref never blows for. For one goal kick he had a defender behind holding him down by his top and one infront with his arm wrapped and locked round his to stop him getting of the floor, now to me one of those actions is a foul both at the same time is 100% a foul but the ref let it go.
Bobby is never going to get 20+ goals a season but he seems to have lost what he was good at and what he based his game on. I think he needs to go back to basics and concentrate on what he has always done well i.e. planting his feet, holding off the defender, taking the ball down and giving it off before getting in the box (Austin has been doing it and hes great at it never realised he had that in his game). If we can get that from him then I think he is contributing but at the moment he is failing to do that and that has to be the absolute minimum if hes going to get in the team.
