Does anyone genuinely think these "done deals" that drag on for weeks are NOT down to players & agents stalling to see if a better deal or club will turn up ?

Or that Townsend, Defoe, Crouch will be any different ?

Fact is , footballers and agents especially are greedy and mercenary.

And the Championship is not holding many Aces.

A bit depressing, I know, but I still can't wait for 3pm tomorrow !

Read 'The secret footballer', it talks about how agents play such a big part in all this transfer nonsense, they tell the papers team A wants this player (they don't) for X amount and it's close , hoping that other clubs are alerted to the situation and bid higher and offer better wages etc......all about money! It usually works best on deadline day.

Zapata definitely isn't happening, Harry said as much himself. We took a look at the player but apparently wasn't right for us, whatever that means. Harry also confirmed that we were in discussions about a loan for the lad from Liverpool, dunno what happened though as it all went a bit quiet.

Hooper and Parker I think you may be right about, agents get a deal on the table then tout the player about the Premiership trying to get a better offer.

I can see us scrambling around at the last min again not that is as much of a problem as a championship club as long as we have targets and we're not panic buying. Allways a few good deals to be done with the 25 man squad rule limiting prem squads.
