    two questions/answers.
one. losing out to players? everyone is there for the taking-not hr's fault.
two. hr uses the media when in reality should stay sctumm.
    two totally different subjects.

Who really knows what goes on
maybe we signed Austin by telling him we were going to try and sign Parker.
Maybe harry was doing Levy a favour by outing premiership interest in Parker and in return spurs will do us a deal on townsend

all sorts of machinations go on behind the scenes for all sorts of reasons that seem obscure to up, lets just hope its not obscure to Harry and Co

Must admit i could do without it because as someone said it makes us look a bit silly consistently failing to sign targets. still waiting to have my mind blown, maybe next week
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

It seems we have been the quickest off the block for Parker, the club has nothing wrong in this instance.
With some of the twasstarts on here the club can never do no right. It's a wonder why some allegedly support QPR.

We need to keep getting as many midfielders as we can because we are proving that there are loads of s_hit ones about.

Can we please stop with the questioning of other people's support of the club? It's a sh*tty thing to do.

The one and only thing we all are on this board, is QPR fans, and we've all been through the mill, and react differently to the way the club goes about it's business.

We are all QPR, and that's the only thing that binds us all.

Based on our recent history if I were another club I would actively avoid the targets that QPR were chasing!

Harry needs to shut up about the players we're after, not to keep it a secret from other clubs but to avoid making himself and us looking foolish when it doesn't happen.

i also appreciate he is responding to questions, but plenty of other managers find themselves able to skilfully dodge giving anything away.
If Harry isn't careful, he's in danger of getting a worse record than Dazzer.

I think you miss the point TW - which is that there is just no need for Harry to keep opening his mouth about our possible transfers, whether it makes any difference to the ultimate outcome or not. It could also be argued that the fact that Harry's opinions as a manager are highly respected within the game could well make some clubs reconsider their views on a player who they would previously have disregarded.

Ultimately if it doesn't help the club's cause in us signing a player by discussing it with the media before the player's signed then why take that unnecessary risk, however small some perceive it to be?

And does Redknapp in fact do it more to just serve his own ego than anything else?

I think Harry's media performances and public pronouncements are the lesser part of the problem. The real issue is that the current emphasis on past their sell by date performers is not the long term solution for our club. The sad thing is that some medium sized clubs have actually sussed it - Swansea being an obvious example. That is much easier to facilitate when fans have a stake / control in the boardroom, because fans have a long term interest. Millionaire owners new to the game want it all to happen overnight, and that means they are vulnerable to shark infested waters - look at the hold Hughes' advisors (Kia) had on the comings and goings. And Harry's form in the market place isn't exactly pristine....

My fantasy would be a supporter's trust running the club, with a young manager at the helm - there are some interesting contenders out there.

The trouble is that Harry alerts us to possible signings which we think are then probable. And when they don't happen is us who have their expectations dashed. Just do the business, Harry. Don' t talk about it.
