he also needs to keep his mouth shut. i know it's why the media love him, but we've already got 1 attention seeker in TF

the board must veto these bids for 30+ players on 50k+
Loads of managers do this, Warnock did with Kenny, Derry and Hill, Venables did it with flanagan, fenwick, Burridge etc etc Managers have a system and need players they trust, not really a surprise.

    • I would've loved parker 2 years ago, that ship has sailed though...

edit:and YES players get some familiar faces in but look at arry's history he's done this everywhere. he NEVER signs an unknown/promising player, just goes for his old mates. even Remy was a target he 'inherited' at Spurs!

just watch, if we end up with parker & defoe/crouch there will be problems

      • If Parkers actually recovered from his achilles injury then he'll be a brilliant player for us.

But at his age and considering he missed 80% of last season, it will be a massive gamble IMO. Can't exactly see him doing the saturday/tuesday/saturday/tuesday routine HR is always mentioning.

This is the reason why I'm not so sure we should be spending big money on him. My cousin who is Spurs said that he thinks they got him 2 years to late as well.

Did he miss that many games?

            I didn't realise that

He didn't miss 80% of last season. That is rubbish. He played in more than half Spurs Premier League games and a fair few in Europe. He kept Dembele out the side for a period as well.

Agree MYU, on a free transfer and reasonable wages Parker is well worth a punt. For a couple of million quid and Premiership wages it's a silly risk for a Championship side.

I think as a club we need to start setting our expectations a little lower as well. it's no coincidence that we keep going through this process of trying to sign a player only to be beaten by a Premiership side at the final hurdle, it's because we are trying to sign players who are too good for this league!

He played 28 games including cup matches - and I suppose Spurs had a decent European run but surely they didn't end up playing almost 150 games last season

I think Lewis should make the final decision.

I agree with ya mate. Other positions need addressing before we start knocking out the big wages on a 33 yr old.

Parker would replace the tortoise that is Henry! Giving us faurlin as back up , oneil to replace SWP and that a fantastic midfield. Also I will be very surprised if Barton is here on 3rd sept
