One of the things missing from QPR’s midfield was a CM who could tackle without giving away endless free kicks like Diakite and Mbia.

I am not a great fan of Henry, but if he is doing the basics of tackling and passing then that is fine by me, because this division is not all about winning in style.

If QPR can get Parker in to do the same job that would be great, but if they can’t then they will have to make do with Henry.

^faurlin & barton can do that job.

henry represents everything that's wrong with english football, the guy's always been awful. why do we go for so many CMs?

Just looked at his stats people say his passing is poor, He has made 44 passes with a 90% success rate what's the problem?

Scapegoat. If Derry had put the exact same performances in, he would have been brilliant.

Just look at the cr@p spouted on threads about him before he had even kicked a ball for us and it tells you all you need to know.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Problem is we have idiots who sit behind a key board thinking they know more than managers & coaches who've been in the game all their lives. Why are these people not in high profile jobs they know so much?

He does the basics well enough. He's in a new team give him a break ffs. Typical QPR fans needing a scapegoat. Every season without fail.

Yep I know , Barton and faurlin have around 78% passing with similar passes made. Granero is our must successful 50 passes 96% success.

                  I agree it's ridiculous , a scapegoat isn't even needed if we aren't losing........

There's not a player anywhere who's put on a pair of football boots who would not get slagged off by some muppet on this board. Henry not the greatest but what has he done wrong so far?

I salute all three of you (Matty) you think how I do

He was not brought in to go on mazy runs and score from the edge of the box he was brought into stop the opposition doing that and so far job done. If we get two of three goals out of him great but as long as he is a nuisance in the middle no complaints from me

It's horses for courses. His competition rate is entirely for easy and unadventurous passes. No problem with him breaking things up etc if he's partnered in midfield with someone who can play adventurous balls, create space, carry the ball into space (perhaps even the box), beat the odd player etc. Especially playing 442. My problem is that CM has so far been static and undynamic. Henry pairing with Faurlin or Granero has been the weak link in our team. Perhaps try Faurlin and Granero or moving Joey in and playing O'Neil on the right??

That's Harry Redknapps doing not Karl Henry tbf.

Yep. Henry does what's written on his tin, if you know what I mean. I'd have him over Mbia and Diakite every time.

Same as that mate. The kind of player who'll never get the plaudits as he does a sh!tty job allowing others to play. I applaud that. I am a bit gutted about Diakite though. Fancied him to become a really decent player under Redknapp. A flawed diamond for sure. Mbia just pony for me I'm afraid.

you make an excellent point, why it seems impossible for a professional footballer to spray some incisive passes and the ability to go around an opponent is beyond me, like you say, reason England are a poor football nation
