I am not sure that it makes a lot of sense to release him. He can fulfill a reasonable back up role in the Championship.

I know he hasn't been good enough, but couldn't they negotiate a fee of £250-500K? Afterall, it's not as if he is in Zesh Rehman's league.

Still, I guess it saves on paying him his £40k (guestimate) a week salary for the rest of the season.

Mutual termination to free him up to move to Turkey. Makes sense, the guy is a liability!

Would have been ok as back but do we really want players in that role on 30-40k per week and earning more than those starting every game...

Ian Taylor doing his usual tease on Twitter of someone leaving the club, must be Anton then.

Don't understand why he gets so much abuse. Ok he ain't that great, but he gives his all and talks with the fans a lot on twitter and has 'R Block banter' apparently lol. He'd be a decent backup in the championship, but he's gone now so good luck to him.

Nik, no doubt he would have been kept on as back up if it wasn't for his weekly wage. Far too much to be paying someone in that role.

Wonder how long he had left on his contract and how much he has pocketed.

I think most people rumbled that running into the corner, beating the chest, kissing the badge in front of R Block bullsh1t a long, long, time ago.....

Some very angry fans we have don't we The bloke doesn't deserve any abuse. Yes he was $hit at times (although will say not as bad as some like to make out) and I am glad he is off the wage bill now, but not sure the need for some of the reactions to his release. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.
