  • Joey might stay...

    Lets get behind him.

Joey Barton, however, is ready to stay at QPR. The 30-year-old midfielder has been waiting for Marseille to resume talks over a move to France but the deal has stalled. Barton said: 'I've been in Marseille for a year and enjoyed it but I have great relationship with the fans here and am happy to stay and help QPR get promotion.'

He was I remember him bouncing all over the pitch at the end of the game in that gross Yellow kit they had in front of the away end when they won the league

Hope he goes, without knowing the ins and outs, the whole thing does have an air of him just using us, we seem to be a vehicle of convenience. He's not indispensable.

Well there are probably some "good deals" available from last years squad especially if the club is making up the difference in wages like what is reported with Park at PSV.

With Barton the vibes reported have been good for a couple weeks now which is good and sounds like he is staying.

Lets forget the past. Not ideal no but we're all striving for the same thing & if Barton is willing to knuckle down & help us get back up every single fan should support that. It's about QPR FC not Joey Barton.

He got a great reception against Swfc which I was quite shocked about but was also very pleased. If there had been booing first game of the season against a player in one of our shirts that would of been pathetic, embarrassing & detrimental to our cause.

Will support him whilst wearing the Hoops. Good football brain, especially at this level.

Just needs to keep his gob shut and let his football do the talking.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, and agree about getting behind the team on the pitch, how many fresh starts and clean sheets should Joey get?

Whilst booing would have been unproductive, it would at least have made more sense than the rapturous response he actually got....

Would it? Don't matter how big his gob is it must affect any player getting booed by your own fans. Surely the reception he got spurred him on to perform which he did admirably. What if we'd booed him & lost? As I said before the past is gone lets move on. We knew what we were getting in Barton the person so shouldn't be a shock to any of us.

I for one am glad to see he is willing to stay.

He has been in this league with Newcsatle and put in a shift in most games I saw him play in and helped them to win the league. He knows what it takes to win this league and also what it takes to play at grounds like Burnley, Blackpoo,l Donacster, Barnsley etc on a cold & wet Tuesday evening. He scored a assisted with a few goals too.
A midfield trio of Barton, Faurlin & Henry, O'Neil or Jenas whilst not very creative could still be a very successful one in the Championship.
