  • Adel - the abbreviated version

    Pros -

Extremely gifted and can do things most other players can't
Has ability to turn a game
    Great close control

    Cons -

Awful at set pieces and shooting bar the all too odd moment
    Slows games down
Goes missing frequently leaving us little better off than if we were with 10 men
    Disruptive influence
Doesn't want to play for us
For the main has struggled to make an impact in Premiership
Question mark over his fitness and application

    Summary -

For me it has to be thanks for the memories (some of which are sublime) but a genius with too many flaws for a team with real ambition. We have moved on a lot from the last time we were in this division and need to build a team of players not a team to support one individual in the hope that individual might do a bit of magic. If he grows up and applies himself could do well but afraid he has all the makings of a player with great talent but who never quite fulfils his potential. Best of luck to him though.

I can't make my mind up if i'd more hate seeing him in a Fulham or QPR shirt guess that sums up the way i've felt about Adel for a while now. We all know what he capable of both in a positive and negative way so i guess is thanks for the memories and don't hurry back

Wouldn't say he can't shoot, near enough every goal he has scored has been a goal of the month/season contender (OK a few are wild) Not one player in our squad could score the goals he did v west brom, fulham, west ham, let alone all the championship goals. If messi scored the goals v fulham and swansea people would be saying they were the greatest goals ever.

Anyway time to move on now, god bless Karl Henry.

The pass to Routledge against Coventry in the Championship will live long in the memory

I don't recall ever seeing a better pass, it was sublime.

In a 90 minute game he's magic for about 3 of them.

And those 3 minutes often won the game

In the right mind frame and under the right management can become one of the greats

It can all go completely wrong for him as is happening if he dont get his mind right and learn how to harness his abilities while controlling his emotions

Only 24 so these next few years will prove whether he has what it takes to make it at the top level as cant really judge on these past few seasons with an awful team all round
