Isn't there some stats saying he created more chances than most midfielders in the prem last season?

He is utter quality and I know football is about opinions but I really don't understand people knocking his football ability.

I'm 36 and he is the most skilful player I have ever seen live. Obviously his head isn't right but what a footballer.
Second behind Luis Suarez if I remembered that correctly, and with better finishers around him those chances would have been turned into assists. Great post by the way.

not to keep dragging up the same issues but does no one agree we could have treated adel better? he gave a lot during our promotion season - to strip him of the captaincy for Barton (who has only ever shown contempt for our club off the pitch) cant have filled him with optimism for the future. then, despite being our main (only?) creative outlet, he was demoted to sub under Hughes. and now he doesn't fit in with the 'type of lad' arry wants here. tbh i can't blame him for being pissed off, faurlin (& maybe diakite at the start) is the only player we've had who is anywhere near his level

i hope he does well and comes back again under a new boss, seems like wishful thinking tho

Not saying he isnt skillful, he has tremendous ability but that's what makes it even more frustrating that there is simply little end product. He is mentally flawed and this constant over hyping his contribution only fuels that. Think the state is he was second only to Suarez in dribbling attempts, but that's attempts not players beaten and we all know how he likes a dribble

So the player who doesn't want to train, turns up late, goes missing and regularly states he wants to move to another club has been treated badly by the club. I actually give up I really do !

he started misbehaving AFTER we stripped him of the captaincy. he was cast away as much of the promotion season team were, despite being better than anyone we brought in....

i think we could have treated him a bit better & kept him as the key man. he epitomises the breed of player that needs to be motivated, either through playing with better/more experienced/inspirational teammates or by being the focal point. and EVERY player wants to move to a bigger/better club

not saying he hasnt taken the **** with us, just that the club has taken the **** with him and bit too

four goals, five assists in 30 odd games in a relegated side: lots of fans say he was a total failure in the prem and i fully accept he rarely lit it up like he did the championship (fulham game aside) but if we had 10 other outfield players who did as badly as those stats we might just have stayed up...
