  • Zamora !

I think the guy has a great touch, makes space up front and is one of the best we have had a loftus road for holding the ball up while others come into play.... problem for me is he seems unfit and unable to last more than 45 minutes.

yeah good skills to have about 10 years ago but football have kinda move on now, strikers are there for scoring goals.

You don't see foreign managers or players encouraging the kind of skills you're talking about, no wonder England are a laughing stock in the world of football

Judging by yesterday's performance he isn't the best player we have, and he hasn't really shown much quality before that either.

              Really?

Well each and to their own I guess.

Zamora didn't play much last year, hardly at all, yet the whole midfield all put together over 38 games scored less than 10 goals. Which must be some sort of record. So whatever the problem was with scoring goals last year it wasn't down to Zamora.

Here is the line up for Hughes last game vs Southampton - no Zamora, lots of popular players, how many goals did that entire XI score all season? Dont think they even got into double figures, 38 games, wow.

                Julio Cesar
                Traore
                Ferdinand
                Nelsen
                Bosingwa
                Diakite
                Taarabt
                Granero
                Faurlin
                Cisse
                Hoilett

Having watched him at Peterborough in pre season and now yesterday I would go as far as saying Zamora will never be fully fit again. Everything he is trying to do has become a struggle and if you watch him lay a ball off and then try to get into the box it is clear his mobility has gone. No coincidence when Austin came on our centre forward was in the area to get on the end of crosses.

he just doesn't jump with any purpose or intent so loses every header , he's far to easy to read and has no pace . you can see it in his face that he's gone . austin came on and won his first header ok he gave away a foul but he let the defender know he was there

He holds up the ball for others to play off him and that works sometimes, but we're not going to score many goals while he's playing. AJ and Austin up top is the way to go. Austin's good in the air and holding up the ball anyway.

He has been given by far too many chances, even more than Bothroyd who scored in his only league match he started last season I guess. Enough said.

Having him on the pitch is like having one player sent off.

Injuries have taken their toll I'm afraid. We definitely have never seen the best of him and IMO was a big gamble when we signed him. One which never came off.

Tired of these holding up the ball players when claiming to strikers
