Good performance from Barton today and I hope he stays. But no one can deny he was lucky not to get sent off following the foul on Maghoma in the box, shortly after his yellow. The reaction on here would probably have been different then.

QPR say it depends on Marseille and Joey.

Meanwhile he's under contract at QPR so Harry will keep on picking him, and rightly so.

A good 80 minutes against a **** championship team and suddenly Bartons the man?!?!? Some people are mental.
Redknapp should not have even considered him for selection.
Seriously, consider the stuff he came out with after Warnock was sacked, the countless tweets and interviews he has given since in which have made a mochary of our club. In the past week alone he's tried to move to Everton & Marseille! He could not care less about the club. He really couldn't. Yet for some inane reason fans still love him. It's ridiculous. Yes he works hard, but so did Mackie, twice as hard and without all the BS that comes with Barton.
Imagine if a Man United player said the things he'd said, he wouldn't even be let into Old Trafford, let alone into the first team. That's how a proper club is run. A club that has a degree of self respect and morals. But not us, clearly.
Would Gallen, Bircham, Cook, Mackie, Rowlands, Ainsworth, Padula, Maddix, Ferdinand, Holloway, Barraclough etc etc etc etc etc etc have ever even contemplated saying half the things he's said about this club? No. Yet fans sing his name like he's the messiah. EMBARRASSING.
This club has changed so much for the worse it's actually frightening. I remember not so long ago we got excited about signing Tony Thorpe for £50k - now we even refer to Traore's fee of £2 Million as ''**** all''.... What the hell has happened to our club???

Originally posted by Magic View PostLittle bit overboard mate, considering we won. I do find this praise for Barton to be a bit over the top, some people have very short memories but if he's under contract and wants to help contribute he definitely could do a job at this level. Especially with Austin coming in we're going to need someone to put in crosses and today we saw some quality ones from Barton. Worth remembering that he's had a disrupted pre-season and only played one behind closed doors friendly so may yet improve further. I won't be singing his name just yet but I'll be more than happy if he gets his head down and keeps turning in performances.
To be honest I wish a few more fans had the same approach as you and perhaps waited a few games before declaring their love for Joey. It makes everyone look a bit desperate and sad really when they're heaping praise on someone who's done nothing but mug us off for 18 months.
I'm sure he'll be gone by September 2nd so we won't have to worry after that.

We really missed him last year.
not detracting from what was a good performance yesterday, but the one season he played for us for the most part he was total sh*ite imo.
that being said, you're right he gave everything yesterday and thats all we can ask. first time he's given 100% for us imo, long may it continue.Top Scorers 2018/2019

What a strange type of 'supporter' you are, slagging off your fellow fans.
We know he'd rather be playing elsewhere, but I'd guess that applies to other players in the club, and within clubs all over the world. He's been gone for a year, been recalled by the manager, and played a good game on his return. Can't you accept that without sounding all bitter and twisted?Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Quality reading of the game ......
As Westie says why pay out money for something we already have !
TF if he really wants to go, sell him BUT don't pay him to leave !
HR's job today is to put his arm around Joey and make sure he wants to stay .........."Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."
