what i rember
what i remeMber was trully amazing in 1965 we were a joke team, with one amazing superstar that was of course mark lazarus, but the introductuion of jim gregory brought in les allen who smashed 30 goals in his first season, but then in gregorys seciond season he introduced a player of the calibre of charlie austin this platyer hit 44 goals in his first full season and of course he destroyed all the teams running up to the final, scoring in every round i thought he was strangely subdued in the final
but the other thing that was incredible was the fans everybody turned out it didnt matter if they supported spurs west ham or chelsea they marched in massive numbers on wembley maybe as many as 40 thousand, even local people that were not even football fans turned up in there thousands,it was the fans that made it a special event in those days hooliganism wasnt really invented, only millwall were at it every one else was well nbehaved
nothing and knowbody could stop this outstaning event being a success and right in the middle of this firework display was the undestructable jim greghory,a man who sold 2 post office vans every monday
to build his economy with no jim gregory there would have been no current qpr,we would be like brentford a joke side,DURING THE GAME I CRIED HYSTERICALLY WHEN WE WERE TWO NIL DOWN,AND WHEN WE FINISHED 3-2 WINNERS I JUST COULD NOT BELIEVE IT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,SUCH PRECOUS MEMORIES
