  • The 1967 Cupfinal

I had a look at this match the other day, and I have to say our comeback in the last 45 minutes was truly amazing. The match was not all about Rodney Marsh. Langley(?) and Lazarus stood also out for me, but the team effort was second to none. What a spirit they showed.
Did anyone on this site go to that match?

    Yes - I was there
It was my second season of going to all the home games -my Dad had taken me from time to time prior to that. It seemed as if we were invincible that season and I got huge pleasure from holding my own with my mates who supported the fashionable trophy winning teams (more or less the same ones as now). The magic really started with a home game against Leicester who were near the top of the 1st division and had many internationals including Gordon Banks. I remember a shot from Les Allen hitting the bar, coming down and hitting Banks on the back before going in. I was perched on a crush barrier supported by my dad -I nearly fell off continuously! I just assumed we would win the final, but we were run ragged in the 1st half. The second half however---- wow. At that time it was the greatest day of my life -would still be in the top ten and certainly the best football one. I have always been greatful to my dad for giving me the gift of supporting QPR (itwas his local team) and my two sons are both totally committed (or should be!)

It does but that's not a problem for jfish. I don't like to talk on other people's behalf, but jfish actually sold the old sock under his bed last week to the local sperm bank. Got £25 grand for it!!

I'm going slevangar, olden and some place beginning with G. I'll spending most my time drinking, eating and in the casino.

When I get a chance I will look up to see what a fjord is.

Is it a place where they make profiteroles ?

                          25k was well worth it.

That sock has some mileage in it.
