  • Austin (yet again)

Burnley have offered to make him their top earner on £15k a week, but he's hoping that QPR or Forest will come in with a better offer.

Thought he signed for Forest yesterday? That's what I read on here I'm sure.

makes you realise how overpaid our players are. this is the guy that many of us see as our saviour and he must be on less than half our reserves. if burnley are looking to break the bank by giving him 15k a week he won't be on more than 10k now. I bet even Hogan Ephraim is on double that, our fourth choice right back on triple that.

Somebody said that the chairman of Forest had said that he had signed. It turned out that all that had happened was somebody had asked the chairman if he had signed which is an example of where rumours start.

After offloading Bosingwa, we should now be able to get him. We should fight to bring him and not repeat the same mistake we did with Hooper.

Why do people keep saying ' We must not repeat the same mistake with Hooper ' !!!

Hooper did not want to come here and play in the Championship .....He wanted Prem League football .....Norwich wanted him and they have Prem League Football .....Let it GO !!!!!

Also think he was asking for too much money, which we refused to pay. This is not a mistake, as far as I am concerned.

People are going way over board with the Burnley offering Austin a new deal. It's being made out that Burnley are offering him a new deal as a way to stick by him after Hull sacked him off. This isn't true, Austin is out of contract next summer and that's why Burnley are so keen to get him signed up.

Personally I think we will sign him but we need to get a move on. They accepted 4.5 million from Hull so we know what is acceptable to Burnley. Agree a fee and get him down for talks and a medical. If his knee is as bad as Hull think then cancel the deal, nothing lost. Arguing over a fee because he failed a medical will only work against us. Beard needs to pull his finger out transfer dealings wise, the season starts in 6 days and we need new players quickly, especially a goal scorer.

                      Ah ok.

Also with regards to Hooper I read I think on sky sports that we offered him a much larger financial package than was on offer at NCFC.

Personally I respect that sh!t. Fair play to him just wants top flight football. Lets get Austin good young player.

                        Here you go

Hooper was also adamant his move had nothing to do with money. As Express Sportrevealed yesterday, he turned down a far more lucrative offer from Championship big-spenders QPR to make the move to Carrow Road.

GARY HOOPER says he had to leave Celtic to move to the English Premier League to have any hope of fulfilling his England dream

A forest fan tweeted yesterday denying signing Austin!

I read that myself Ric. I always thought we'd offer him a better deal than Norwich and that's why I haven't slated him for signing for them. He wants to play at the highest level, it was as simple as that. Respect to the lad and I hope he scores goals for them. Saying that though I do believe we would have been the better career move for him but you can't blame him for choosing Norwich.
