Nine senior players have left. Mackie, Bosingwa, Ben Haim, Hulse, Cerny, Samba, Campbell, Cisse, Bothroyd. So we were essentially giving them an average of 55k a week. Jesus wept.

£25,000,000 = 1,389 one penny sweets for each crowd member ( based on 18,000 fans), but if you only give one fan one sweet every home game then that's a free sweet every game for....I'll come back with the answer!

      O.k....average out home games per season to 21 (19 in Prem and 23 in Champ) = 1389 ÷ 21 = s.hit, I forgot the answer....answer is 66 seasons...so 1 sweet for every fan for 66 seasons...I think?!

but... if we're really saving about £2m a month, then we really were paying the wages that people claimed that we were.

£2m per month = £460k a week, so a rough guess would be:

        samba 100k
        bosingwa 70k
        cisse 60k
mackie, hulse, bothroyd, campbell, ben haim, fabio, townsend 30k
        czeny 20k

and that's assuming that the cost of simpson, henry and dunne's wages aren't included in the £2m better off.

Couple more big earners off the wage bill ie; Park, Barton, Taarabt, Remy, Granero, Cesar & we will be on our way to having a wage bill that reflects the size of our club.

Can defo see Cesar & Remy adding to our savings. Not do sure about Taarabt & Barton though. Don't think anyone will take a punt personally.
Great just what we need to be saving

Townsend was/is on no where near £30k a week, less than half that.

And don't forget we saved big time on Hughes & Co wages since they duped Stoke !

Where did the £2m figure come from? If it came from a journalist it is probably nearer £1m and change. As with all of these things, don't take it literally.

No it didn't come from a journo.

1976 good point regarding Hughes & co. that's a pretty penny saved there!!
