Park WAS a good SQUAD player for United, he played well because he had great players around him.

His talents are down to his work rate mainly.

When he came to QPR it was because his day was done at United, if they wanted to keep him then they would have kept him. They have that power, well SAF certainly did.

Do people really think a player would trade Manchester United (One of if not the best team in the world) For West London and relegation? If he had a choice? Lets get real, they wanted rid and we paid them a good price to take him off them.

Now it may well be a no brainer for someone like me, because I personally think W12 is a wonderful but someone like him would not.

He hasnt been good for us, his wages are high and we want rid if possible. DONE.
This post has all the attributes of a good message board opinion.
    1) Well informed opinion
    2) Contentious, as not everyone will agree with all of it
    3) Points well made, without a hint of abuse against the player, any fellow poster or the players origin/habits of the culture etc and not a single foul word in sight.
Not even our fury hamster could consider a banning order if we all posted in such a fashion

To be fair......at least if it is explained at the time why someone was banned it means we can do away with the slightly pathetic 'vigil' thread where everyone gets incredibly dramatic and hysterical as if the poor 'victim' was eternally banished.....rather than not being allowed to post for 24hrs.....:pleasantsuprise:

Oh..by the way....great gif......you are getting as good with your gif usage as Deepcut now....

Banning people is no longer my hobby,

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

              Not according Sky:

PSV Eindhoven coach Philip Cocu has confirmed he is hoping to conclude a deal to sign Queens Park Rangers midfielder Park Ji-sung.

Park has reportedly been told he can leave QPR just 12 months after moving to Loftus Road on a two-year contract from Manchester United:

Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

                      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                      And many more mistakes

The reality is that Park did have a choice, no matter how many times you repeat that he did not.

Park's choice was between staying at Manchester United and playing very little, except for the occasional big game for which SAF would rely on him, signing for some minor clubs that offered more money, and playing a lot at QPR where he would play a larger role. MH and TF persuaded Park that QPR had a bright future, and that they needed him for that to happen. TF actively went after Park, and Park believed in the vision that TF and MH presented to him. Park believed them, and risked a lot to make the move to QPR.

Here is something that you probably did not get to read about. A translation of one of TF's interviews after Park's transfer was confirmed, one year ago:

"Last May on the day of the UEFA Champions League final, I had lunch with Ji Sung Park's agent Luca Bascherini, with whom I was well acquainted with. So I asked him if we could sign Park, to which he responded that it was out of the question. Mark Hughes also said that it was 100% impossible.

A lot of people all told me that it would not happen, but I have always been very proactive with my work. It was the same in the case of Ji Sung Park. I continued to make attempts to sign Ji Sung Park. It was difficult to persuade Manchester United, but I had sponsored them in the past, so I continued to persuade them and eventually was able to get them to agree to the transfer.

Signing Ji Sung Park was like a storybook tale. Ji Sung Park took a photo of the transfer agreement he signed with the club and sent it to me on KakaoTalk. I was very moved. Luca also sent me a photo with (Ji Sung Park) holding a QPR uniform, which further moved me. I was moved because a player who could bring change to QPR had joined our club."

                        http://sports.media.daum.net/worldso...20720204103797

This is just one of many, many articles and sources from TF, Park and SAF which corroborate that TF and MH actively pursued Park, and that both SAF and Park were reluctant about the transfer at first, but TF eventually succeeded in persuading Park to make the move to QPR, and Park in turn requested SAF to approve his transfer to QPR. SAF wanted Park to stay, but he knew that he could not give Park the amount of playing time that Park wanted in the coming season, so he respected Park's decision and let him go.

The fact was that SAF wanted Park to stay as a sub and occasional starter, and Park preferred to play more at QPR. While SAF wanted Park to stay, Park's role and necessity had diminished with the previous signing of Young (younger and more fit than Park), and more recently Kagawa Shinji (who was an ACM with a spectacular prior season in the Bundesliga). SAF wanted to keep Park as a sub, but he could afford to let him go, so he respected the decision of a player who had given many years of loyal service to the club.

This is how it actually went down, despite your claims to the contrary.

Of course, the season proceeded and nothing went according to everyone's expectations, Park crashed and burned along with the rest of the team, and took more heat for being captain at the beginning of the season. It was a bad season, and Park performed poorly as did the entire team. That does not change the fact that Park had options at the time, to stay at Utd as a sub, to sign with other clubs for more money, or to risk a move to QPR. Park opted to believe in TF and MH's vision of a rising QPR, and he risked much to make the transfer.

Yet one year from then, you cannot even acknowledge the commitment and loyalty Park showed to QPR. Even this summer, Park turned down a number of offers including one from Valencia, to stay at QPR. Only when PSV came calling (his former club for which he has much affection, helmed by his former teammates) did Park make a request for the transfer.

Show some respect, for the respect and loyalty that Park himself showed to this club, despite the terrible season he suffered with everyone else. It was more than you could reasonably ask of a football player, which is why you have so much trouble believing it was actually how it happened.

                        • Having lived in the far east for many years I realize that this is a cultural thing.

The supporters on this site support a team not a player. They may like one player more than another, but players come and go and it is really the team that counts.

As far as they are concerned Park was not good for the team. He was made Captain which to some degree makes him more responsible for them being relegated, than the other players. He should have been leading and helping the other players to adapt, but he did not do this.

I think you really need to decide whether you are a supporter of Park or a supporter of QPR. If you are a supporter of Park, you can follow him wherever he decides to go. If you are a supporter of QPR then you need to forget about Park. He is just one of the players that passed through QPR during the years. Players, managers and owners move on, but the team is always here through good and bad.

Most people are finding your continually talking about one player to be boring. He is probably not going to be at the Club much longer and will never be mentioned again.

So please decide what you want to do. Stay as a supporter and discuss matters pertaining to all of the team or support Park and follow him wherever he decides to go.

                          • Melanie, I am not posting for the sake of your amusement or approval, it is a bit offensive that you have implied such. I am simply expressing my opinions, usually in response to others' more inflammatory opinions, which perhaps bore you less.

I have only started a couple of threads about Park in my past year here. Neither do I respond most comments about Park's performance last season, as everyone is entitled to their own opinion of our players. I am also entitled to my opinion and I do express such when I feel like it.

I am a fan of Park the player and a supporter of QPR the club. It does not matter whether you feel I need to make a choice between the two, they are not mutually exclusive in my book and most international fans, you have no say in the matter of what I like or support.

Also, do not claim to speak for the majority. Most members that agree with a particular post read silently.

Im going to try this one more time.......Who really gives a flying t0ss how or why he signed. People do not like him on here because he was AWFUL last season and although he probably did not request it, as captain, is very responsible for our constant poor performances. The fact the park lovers are still bashing on about SAF and united, probably sums up the fact you know his QPR CAREER was terrible.

I couldnt care less how a player plays before joing the club, nor how he plays after he leaves the club. All that matters is what he brings to QPR and how he helps the team. In parks case:

He bought a load of fickle fans
Bought next to nothing on the pitch.
