I hope he will be good for us but just a shame that he is a huge drain on finances that we could have put to use on at least 2 players !

I certainly don't bear any grudge towards Barton....I just don't think he's that good......and for people to claim that he would be our best option in midfield probably says more about the shocking state of our current midfield

If.....and it's a massive if..he doesn't get his desired move away.....then I will support ANY player who puts on the hoops......I would just like the c*** to stop talking a good game and actually put in a performance.
If you think Joey Barton wouldn't do well in the championship mate then you need your head testing. It's more a case of whether he would bother, but this thread starts with one of Joey's more positive tweets and if he does stay and put a shift in no doubt I'll be sat next to some bellend going on about man city and tevez when really sheffs weds, huddersfield, ipswich etc, etc, etc, etc is all that matters

        'need your head testing...' Lovely.

If you expect Joey to be motivated enough in the Championship, when he couldn't be bothered in the Premier League, then you are more optimistic than I am.

I have never said that he couldn't do well in the championship......matter of fact....it's probably his level......but, that line of yours that I've highlighted says it all.

Feel free to lick his nuts mate but I would just like to see players who perform for our club.

I don't exactly remember him "not bothering" in the Premiership. OK he maybe did not live up to what we were expecting, but I do not remember him wandering around the pitch like a headless chicken, like some of our players did last year.

              This.

Views on his ability aside (another debate entirely) - don't think anybody can doubt hsi work rate. Always puts 100% in when on that pitch.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

My point is that IF Joey has a change of heart and puts in consistent effort on the pitch we should do what we pay to do when we are at games and support the team, including him.

Has anyone said they wouldn't do that?

Players don't get booed off the pitch if they have been giving 100%. The crowd's reaction in that Liverpool game, was not down to that one match.

He was pants 90% of the time though.

Anyway, pretty sure Harry doesn't want anything to with him. Which is fine by me.

The messageboards are a perfect place to vent frustrations about the club and players. Why would you want everyone to be happy-clappy and in agreement? The tedium would be far worse than the arguments....

I will guarantee you that of the vast majority of the people criticising players on the messageboards, wouldn't dream of not getting behind the players at the game. By all means there will be some that do give them stick, but it's wrong to assume you can tell which are which on here.

He bothered enough to help get Newcastle up.

I know but I'm looking forward to saturday, a few beers, some sun (hopefully) and 3 hard earned points!

Those can come on here and moan, I can come on here and be happy. Is that ok? ;-)

Ah, I see the error you've made, then. Fair enough.
