  • Our Playing Squad..Must BE worth Millions??

I know it gets criticised, but how much are these players worth??

    Connolly 4 million?

    Buzsacky 3 million?

    Routledge 3 million?

Then, what a great job on the loans Tarrabt, Simpson, and Watson muct be worth 10 million between them?

I do stand to be corrected, but thats not bad for a team that get an average of 13,000 through the turnstiles? What other club that gets those kind of crowds, can match the worth of our players?

    IMO:

Connolly, shouldnt be let go for anything under 4 million.
    Routledge, 1.5 million, maybe 2.
Buzsaky, a fit Buzz banging in goals/set pieces gotta be 2.5million.
Gorkks, Imo a fantastic defender, worth 1.5million, hope he gets back in the team.
Cerny, 1 million, age is against him, but a total pro and good keeper.
    Ramage, 350k.
Watson, 3 Million atleast, IMO our most impressive signing since the flavio and co takeover.
Taarabt, 2.5 million, young, good prospect, but the likes of watson are better at decision making in games.
Rowlands, 500k, age again a issue for Martin, great pro, but has had his fair share of injurys.
Rowan Vine, at his best 2 million.
Stewart, on last seasons form 2 million. Needs to improve with slack peformances...
Leigertwood, 1.5 million, biggest issue is his passing, but without a doubt great ball winner, and can hit a ball!!!
Faurlin, yet to prove his 3.5 million price tag, but looks bright so we will see....
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

3 to 4 years ago, bar Lee Cook the squad wasn't worth the cost of a 3 bed semi in Acton, especially if the carpets & curtains were thrown in.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

        bold for me abit over/under..

nobody would pay 4m for connolly.. wont happen in his lifetime.
cerny is at most worth 750k
ramage is worth abit more.. prolly 500k same as rowlands
watson - this one made me laugh.. when in HIS PRIME he was sold for what? 2m? or thereabouts to wigan.. yet because he is now at QPR he is worth 3mil..
vine is worth a mil at most.. basically he wont go over what we paid for him.
legs was at 1.5m but now id say around 900k.. again what we paid for him
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
        Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

Shame to have so much talent worth so much money on the bench.

I thought watson was brought for around the 2.5 million mark, now if he plays well for us, you would assume should wigan be willing to sell they wont want to make a loss, and may even ask us for slighty more than they paid because "we have cash", so i put him at the 3 million mark.

Vine, i put at his best 2 million, but thinking again yes i agree likely to be nearer the 1 million mark, although i remember when we were trying to sign him birmingham quoted us 2.5 for him, and if im right we eventually knocked them down to 1-1.5million.

Leigertwood, we brought for 900k, now he hasnt done bad since we got him, imo 1.5million is a figure we would be able to get, wolves were rumoured to have made a 2million bid last summer. 1.5 i think is a fair prediction.

Cerny went abit high on, but i dont think we would let him go unless we got a bid as good as or more than a million. Ok its likely we wont get a bid like that, but, in that case its a win win situation for us the fans, because we have imo a fantastic keeper between the sticks.

dont get me wrong, its all about views.. i feel your view on routledge is 100% spot on where as some feel he is worth 3mil is abit far fetched..

We could discuss Routledge's value all day long. Lets say 2 million for arguments sake.

What other team that has a 13,000 average crowd attendance, have the value of players we have?

That question not unsurprisingly, still not been answered.

                We must be lucky

Fair point, let's trim some of the surplus, get Boyd and or Simpson in , score bags of goals and the squad may be worth tens of millions in a season or two.

Pete the value and crowd is pretty much irrelevent. It's about how the players perform that is relevant.

As to how lucky we are..... they could have a perceived asset value of £500m, but if they played like a bunch of donkeys who can't hit a barn door or string 2 passes together and didn't even get in the playoffs, would we think we were lucky...?

Yes we have amassed a good squad, who should do well and i do feel lucky, but JM needs to galvanise, and get spirit high so that said good players are content to sit it out on occasions.... if there are some primadonnas among them then they could casue issues and bigger problems within the camp. They need good man management and i guess we will see if JM is worth the money....

I agree we are very lucky, imo this team could do very well if they can settle down and click with each other...

Routledge has something to prove, he's never really settled in the prem, and at only 24 could be considered a journey man...

                      Foolham, villa, pompey, palace, spurs.....

I hope he settles with us and fulfils his potential because on his day he is one of the best wingers in the championship....

4 managers so far haven't been able to manage this so called super (unbalanced) squad. What does that say?
