  • The squad and rebuilding

As much as it pains me to say it...

Losing Mackie, Adel maybe Faurlin etc...Is probably a good thing, we need to move on and have a huge clear out across the board. Not just the usual culprits leaving, a whole load of different people

The divide can be seen in two ways..

    1. A bunch off overpaid players who didnt give a sh1t (Some seem to more than others. Nedum, Green etc) Even Mbia and Granero looked more interested last night...
    2. A bunch of players who think they are still due respect from our promotion year and should still be playing week in week out regardless if they are not good enough.

Now Adel on his day is amazing to watch, but he can also be ****ing useless some weeks as well
Mackie gives 700000% but did get lost (Still probably worth keeping this year)
Faurlin hasnt been the same and Harry clearly doesnt rate him

At the end of the day if we have a divide in the dressing room then some of those players need to go and starting from fresh isnt such a bad idea all together.

Harry is building HIS team now, and has been since he took over IMO.

Personally I saw a different team last night than we have done for a long while, we looked more together and stronger throughout.

Clint was at fault for their goal, but we are all due mistakes now and then.

IMO if we can add 2-3 attacking player (2 strikers depending on the remy situation and 1 AM)

and another decent CB then we will be flying.

Our midfield has enough depth and quality, so no excuses there.

Hoillet looked proper lively again and SWP may have found his level and place to regain his confidence?

The last few days may have seemed bad, but in reality it wasn't.

We never was gonna get Hooper if a Prem club came calling, and Mackie wasnt never going to play over SWP or Hoillet and more so if Townsend signs which clearly we probably will get. (Or someone similar)

Furthermore, Remy is a luxury next year. If we wants to go, then so be it.

Austin will score just as many if not more with his hunger and drive and at half the price on wages.

    Cash in and move on.

I'd rather have two new strikers ready for the season than gamble on waiting on Remy.

I dont want 5 signings coming at the end of the window, work solidly till next week and get those players in and Out.

    Rant Over..

Agree on most points mate . I think the general frustration on here especially yesterday was aimed at the clubs inability to get a deal done and over the line before giving someone else the chance to scupper it . Also that why have we waited so long to get things done ? Our squad should mainly be together and have had a couple of games by now yet there are still going to more additions once the seasons actually started , just think its so important to get off to a flyer . Anyway I'm looking forward to next Saturday a lot more now than I was this time yesterday . Onwards and upwards

My theory on the reason that deals are taking long to go through is that we are waiting for the prem teams to name their 25 man squad and then we can have the pick of the best of them. There will be some decent players in that category aswell!
Having said that I think Wigan and reading have done very very well in the transfer market so far

They have indeed a block . We are getting left behind at the moment although we probably had better squads to start with . Lets hope we can get a couple on before Saturday

Really good post qpr4life, the only concern I have at the mo is Adel, mackie,dj,remny, and bothroyd all gone and we've bought three defensive players.
