Now before I start I love his effort levels. 100% every week. With the state of our club over the last 18 months, this attribute alone has been enough to make you a fans favourite.

Despite this there is no denying that this bloke is a very poor footballer. I don't think I've ever seen one individual at fault for so many goals last season, either completely outpaced, turned too easily, beaten in the air or at fault for a disproportionate number of own goals/deflections, which seems to have continued in last nights friendly at Southend, unless we replace him then we will not go up.

With Hill at the back and Green in goal we will let in a huge number of goals.

Slightly harsh on Hill as he has also saved a few but generally have to agree.

If there is no offers for Cesar he needs to come back in, Green is a very average keeper who doesn't move his feet very well, hence why he regularly gets beaten from long range and is also poor dealing with crosses, as we saw last night. Hill well he is Hill, lots of effort and will throw himself at anything but slow and consequently drops off all the time giving the opposition time to play.

Agree he isn't a great footballer and never has been. But, I don't think using last season as an example is fair because anybody would have struggled playing with a non-existent midfield in front of them. If he can keep up his effort and what little pace he has left, he can still do a job for us in the Championship. Maybe not as a first choice though. IMO, of course.

I so glad you have said this. How he stay on the pitch last season is beyond me. He struggled for speed and ended up just fouling people. But he had more pride and gave more of a **** than the rest the team put together

I like Hill he's a true warrior but i do think its time to faze him out of the team. You have to think a fit Dunne will push him out of the 11 and hopefully help Onouha develop into a good CB. It feels a bit like kicking your Granny having these negative thoughts about Hill,Derry and even Mackie before he left. But we need to improve to get up and sentiment has to be ignored

Aint Hills fault he keeps getting picked! He told my brother last year he did not expect many games and would probably be sold, that was sometime in August '12 and look what happened, he played all the bleedin' time!

He was at Peppa Pig World by the way!

Dunne & Onouha must start, need another reliable CB to cover for Dunne, as Hill is sadly passed it.

Nonsense. Name them?? Personal errors?? Turned over by Liverpool's Suarez twice; poor at left back against WBA once; caught out for Villa's third at Vila.... What other goals was he personally responsible for? For a relegation team we were pretty solid at the back; it was our failure to create and score goals that did for us.

He switched to LB in the 2nd half and is definitely worse there. For me his biggest fault has always been his aimless hoofing which inevitably always means conceding possession.

As for the Green criticism, didn't Southend's goal take a nasty deflection off Hill apparently? It's been credited as an OG to him.

Very much this. First thought is always to hoof it long rather than pass it short. Other than that I think he will be a squad player
