  • Harry: Hooper wanted QPR move

Harry Redknapp insists Gary Hooper wanted to join QPR, but believes Norwich showed more urgency in the race for the striker's signature.

More newly released quotes from Harry:

"You can't hang about. I could write a book about players that I have signed and lost over the years.

Deals have got to be done quickly and it dragged on probably two-and-a-half months altogether that deal. It was miles too long.

It should have been done, but that's how it goes, we learn from that one and move on. We can't make that same mistake again.

If we're after a player and we really want him and he wants to come. Because the boy wanted to come, I don't care what anybody says, he was coming to us, but I just think that it seemed to be a bit of a mix up with the deal and everything. Never mind that's how it goes."

So TF and PB ****ed up, no troble throwing millions in players wages we'd been better off flushing down the khazi but when we actually need a player we drag our heels

Oh dear, didn't expect such naivety from you w12.

Harry talks utter ******** and don't believe a word of what comes out of that blokes mouth, not only is he a con man he is a complete clown of a manager.

He seems to want to slate the players now the board, why didn't he fu ck off? Oh because no premier league offer was there.

The reason hooper left was because he actually had a premier league offer, something he was clearly pushing for after a very generous offer from us.
Harry coming across very jealous and a bitter and silly old fool.

I am not a Tony fan and Phil Beard is clearly out of his depth but for harry to come out with this utter garbage is embarrassing, and clearly loves to remind us how uneducated he is.

I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Redknapp just said we tried to get Hooper for 2 & a half months. That makes me feel sick. Don't be stupid
                  Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                  And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

The west London club failed to agree personal terms. That explains everything. He was asking for too much money (55,000 a week was quoted by a Celtic forum) and we refused. Harry thought that finally some agreement would be made because nobody else seemed interested. Then Norwich moved in. (the fact that they had just lost 1-0 to Portland and looked pretty ordinary might have had something to do with it). I have one question when is a deal a quick deal (done it one day) and when does it become a panic buy.

Mackie to Forest looked pretty quick and panic-free to me.

Perhaps the stupid git should have pointed it out after two and a half weeks, if that were the case then.

Or just wait until it all goes belly up and start blaming others as per usual.

If Hooper really wanted that sort of money, we should have walked away a couple of months ago. If we were going to be paying that sort of figure, then we should have been looking at players who were worth it.

That wasn't really done in one day. I think Forest had shown their interest in Mackie some time ago. It did not get too much coverage because it was not really high profile.

Jane, by that definition no deals at this level would get done in one day; unless it was the final day of the transfer window in which case it would be more like a panic buy.
