  • A whole new kind of mistake

We have done well to shift contracted players like Cisse, Samba & Bothroyd after last seasons mess. That's some big expense off the wage bill, not to mention the players out of contract that went, and £12m plus in the kitty or repaid to TF & Mittals.

In my opinion the club are paying too much attention to trying to shift the Boswinga's, Bartons & Diakite's of this world and have fallen into the trap of accepting a low fee for the type of player we need around the starting 11 both to help team mates and do his work on the pitch. £1m or even £2m for Jamie Mackie with us about to play a few seasons in the championship (and trust me we will be, if we are lucky) is bad business.

Harry talked about the "right sort" as soon as last seasons catastrophy ended so should have been all over the promotion season DVD to reflect on what who would be NEEDED. He should have been in Jamie's ear about how important he would be etc, etc.

Instead we have taken a small fee for a very good championship player, strengthened the competition and only saved £20k a week that he was probably on.

Unless he has Townsend lined up does he really think SWP and Hoilett will be consistent or give a **** enough next season? Does he think Remy will be with us mentally between Aug-Sept? Does he think Zamora and AJ will suddenly become bullet proof from long lay offs?

Yes Henry, Dunne and especially Simpson are very good defensive additions and are the "right sort", but so was Mackie. Mark my words this will come back to haunt us!!

Agree to an extent but selling Mackie was nothing to do with recouping money or having the 'right sort' Harry just doesn't fancy him. Footballing decision. The other clowns are also not in his plans but obviously their exuberant wages make selling them that much harder than it was to shift Mackie. If they were all on 20k a week they'd all be gone. Fact.

I agree with you Rich - I have this vision of watching Sky Sports Soccer Saturday (assuming I'm not at a Rangers game) and seeing his name come up as a scorer for Forest and Jeff saying 'that's Jamie Mackie's {nth} goal for Nottingham Forest since his transfer from QPR making him surely one of the buys of the season.....'

Oh and DJ Campbell knows where the back of the net is too and wasn't given a fair crack of the whip in my opinion.

      I hope I'm wrong...

          Spot on.

How can you say we need the right sort and then GET RID OF the right sort. DJ Campbell's another who will prob score 15 goals in the Champ for Blackburn next year.
Were still trying to sign prem players for the Championship which is surely harder work in getting them!

Don't think they know what they want to be honest.. Harry and the board

Harry is destroying the club. I just want him out asap. He is attention seeking person more than football manager. Talking like an old lady dying in her bed.

How can you question whether SWP or Hoilett will give a sh1t, in defense of Mackie who handed in a transfer request.....????? He clearly didn't give a sh1t did he. some fans are so blinkered it's beyond belief.

Add to that the fact he is rubbish, greedy, cant dribble, pass, cross or shoot acurately and just bundles into people. Yes he scored some goals, so what, his backers conveninetly fail to mention the countless sitters he missed or times he ran the ball out of play, mis controlled a simple pass, or failed to pass it easy to a team mate in favour of trying to beat another defender who he then runs into and loses the ball.

He's a carthorse as i'm so glad hes gone.

SWP and Hoilett have infinitely more to offer.

What I mean is that the clubs target is to shift the granero, park, bosingwa, bartons and diakites and whilst they are struggling due to money they are taking low fees for players not in the same earning bracket. Its like they have sold Mackie because they know they won't sell any of them, which is the wrong reason imo

He'll score against us The City Ground and DJ will score against us up at Ewood, both being late goals no doubt. I'm tempted to put the money on now, it just always happens to us.

Haha, bit out of the blue! I've heard Harry described as a few things but not that before.

If you think we're in a bad way now- can you imagine how bad it would be if HR left? Him going is not the answer at this stage.

Also, we all agree we need to bring players in and get players out, there's not many in the business better at doing that than HR.
