    I don't understand this panicking.

The simple fact is that we have/had to shift a lot of players if we are to have a bit of a culture change, get the astronomical wage bill down and move forward. Just because they are not replaced immediately, and (or) a deal falls through, doesn't mean that it is a mistake to peruse that strategy.

What people also seem to be missing is that the PL teams will soon have to confirm their 25 man squad - inevitably leaving a lot of players available for purchase or loan.

I'd rather that than being supposedly held to ransom (Hooper), or panic buying (Bosingwa et al).

I don't think Jamie Mackie had the greatest of seasons in the Prem last year, but in the Championship for us he was a handful and scored goals and that's the reason why I think we should have tried to keep him - reading between the lines there's a reason why he wanted out, but ultimately he is one player who always gave 100% and was the 'right sort'. Time will tell, but I think it's a mistake.

Patrick Agyemang was faster and stronger so more of a handful for defenders and he also scored goals for fun at one point in the championship. Past means little. Mackie's gone backwards if anything. He offers very little to the team and is not a team player. He hardly ever passed the ball and missed sitters galore.

I saw more in the Champ from Mackie than SWP & Hoilett in the Prem.

And the Champ is all that matters at the moment.

Its like they have sold Mackie because they know they won't sell any of them, which is the wrong reason imo
If the manager don't want him then be has to go. Simples. Plus he handed in a TR.

Lol. Tony must have read my post:

"The transfer windows is not closed. We win some we lose some. But there are plenty of the right players. Players must come to QPR for the right reason"

I liked having a 'good on paper' premier team to blindly believe in. I don't know how well I'll handle the idea of a cardboard cutout masquerading as a Championship outfit.

The championship is spit and sawdust. A majority of poncy football and footballers will not get you anywhere...... particularly given the amount of fixtures you have to play.

Hoof, crunch..... and a tiny bit of flair (which is why I want Adel to stay).

If you re-read my post I refer to Mackie as a good championship player. Proven. SWP and Hoilett haven't been there yet and neither struck me with confidence that they'll do well in the championship. Don't get me wrong if they both work hard they are both better than Mackie but I don'e believe they will.

People seem to forget that he put in a transfer request. The reason he did so was because he felt he wasn't gonna start regularly. I honestly don't feel that anyone here could say that he would start regularly over the course of the season, he is not a good enough footballer. Also, just because he played for the badge, doesn't mean we have to play him as he's the 'right sort'. Its like saying Man Utd should play all their youth players just because they really wanna play. Most people here would love Remy and Adel to play alot but we know neither of them are really in it for the club, but to show off. Doesn't mean we should bench them.

Again, please re-read my initial post. Harry should have known in May that Mackie is the type he needs in the championship trenches, Barnsley and Yeovil in the cold rain! If he had managed Mackie he would not have asked to leave. Fact.

That doesn't mean that he should be starting our matches in the championship. I am ok with him leaving if he knew he wasn't going to start. Not many players like being a super sub. I would rather Mackie left than him be a regular starter at the club, he simply isn't good enough.

Mackie wanted out, he must have wanted out for a while now. His heart wasnt in it, add to the fact his limited ability - its a very simple thanks for your efforts and move on from me.

Not forgetting his equaliser against Villa, winning a penalty against Norwich and er, um, oh no so can't think of anything else leading to goals scored.

How can you say we need the right sort and then GET RID OF the right sort. DJ Campbell's another who will prob score 15 goals in the Champ for Blackburn next year.
Were still trying to sign prem players for the Championship which is surely harder work in getting them!

Don't think they know what they want to be honest.. Harry and the board
DJ Cambell is crocked. Anyone want a wager he don't play more than 20 games this season...? Hence why we got rid of him.

Also how can you say Mackie is the right sort of player if he's handed in a transfer request, clearly he want out and his heart wasn't in it anymore. Yes I understand Redknapp has played some part in that but lets be fair, for all Mackie's effort and running, I've grown tired of him running into players. You also can't say that it wasn't better watching Townsend last season compared to Mackie. He was the only positive of last season IMO and that was down to Harry (ok and some of Remy's goals).

All my points are not directed at you fella, just a few things raised against what you mentioned.
