  • Austin V Hooper

In case we get one, both or neither thought some might like some facts on these two.

Austin is a year younger than Hooper.

Austin is 6'2" and can play as sole striker or as a pair where as Hooper is simply a goalscorer.

The goalscorer bit sounds good for Hooper until you realise his best season in the Championship was 19 goals, compared to Austin's 28.

Austin is very good in the air where as Hooper isn't.

Hooper has been playing the majority of his football the last three years against league 1/2 standard players.

Said it various times and on a variety of threads, Hooper is grossly overrated and whilst he may do a job in the Championship that is his level. He clearly doesn't want to come to us so to be honest we have had a lucky escape. Lets see how he does at Norwich!

hooper is an out and out goal scorer and is better at sticking the ball in the net imo,he has a better touch and more pace. would have had him over austin anyday.

Don't know too much about Austin but he has a decent enough strike rate and it isn't just over 1 season he has done it for a few years now

I like players like HH & Blackstock who can header the ball well, it creates changes for others.

If Austin can score too then I'd take that option.

Personally go for Austin and Sharp. Create a strike partnership for £5.5m tops.
