  • QPR table bid for Burnley striker Austin

QPR have made an offer for Burnley striker Charlie Austin after missing out on Gary Hooper.

Celtic forward Hooper is set to join Norwich after the Canaries matched QPR’s bid for him. He had been stalling over a transfer to Loftus Road in the hope of securing a move to the Premier League.

Austin scored 28 goals last season and has netted a total of 45 in 90 games for the Clarets.

He recently saw a proposed move to Hull City collapse when he failed a medical.

If the 24-year-old signs for the R’s it may lead to Jamie Mackie joining Nottingham Forest, who are also keen on Austin.

Forest boss Billy Davies may step up his interest in Mackie if he misses out on Austin, who joined Burnley from Swindon in January 2011.

Mackie, 27, is unhappy at Loftus Road and has made it clear that he wants to leave.

Speculative but I would like to think we would be able to entice Austin to Loftus Road

Apprently Austin scored 28 goals last season & is 24

                        Not bad
                        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Wonder what he failed medical for. Early reports said problem with his shoulder but since seen somewhere it was his knee.
