its a media driven business...that's what creates the interest and finance...interviews have to be given...question have to be responded too...
any one interested knows the worth of a player and his situation...naïve to think H can just not answer anything or that it would make a difference like
hoopers a secret
Some are missing the point. The point is he should just keep schtum about it until the deal is complete, regardless of whether or not it finally goes through. There is really just no need to say anything but Harry simply cant help himself when it comes to the press. As the OP says, he has form with us now re M'vila, Bridge and possibly Hooper now too. Basically, if it's not going to help Harry then just keep your gob firmly SHUT, or just a simple "no comment" is fine. What other managers do this?
To be fair to Harry, it has been reported in virtually every newspaper that's he's coming here. It's been all over the message boards and Twitter as well. Not really sure Redknapp saying that a deal is nearly done would have made a lot of difference. It's clear the player has been stalling to see if a Prem club would come in and they eventually have. It's frustrating but I'm not sure you can really blame anyone!
Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
Redknapp only said that a fee had been agreed. He did not say that terms had been agreed. What was he supposed to do. Lie about it.
He should have said; "sorry,no comments" A media trained manager of today would have acted like that. IMO, this incident clearly shows us how totally out of depth HR is regarding PR. matters.

Come on lads, do you really think Norwich actually found out about our bid being accepted via HR on Sky fricking Sports?
Everything is done behind the scenes, the likelihood is that Norwich agreed a fee with Celtic the same time as we did. They interviewed HR as he's more media friendly then Chris Hughton, and delayed the Norwich news by 12 hours to whip up a frenzy. It worked!

Itīs not just about the deal as such, it also about how he dissapoints us the fans. At least many of us feel quite wounded up today,IMO.
We all knew in our hearts that this might not happen (though as yet nothing is confirmed). It had gone on for too long and it was clear that Hooper did not really want to come here.
it looks like he will get his chance in the premiership. If as some say he is not really a premiership player, then he will be found out and it will be him and Norwich who end up with egg on their face not us.
