I like Mackie, I don't think he was ever a Premiership player but what he lacks in quality he makes up with in commitment. Anyone who has read any of my posts will know that I would take a workhorse like Mackie over a prima donna like Taarabt any day of the week. With all that said, 1.5m is a decent offer for Mackie, I also think that he is definitely a player that Harry Redknapp would see as dispensable. If this report is genuine I expect that the club will give the offer some serious consideration.

Yes, I agree.

Mackie has always had interest from other clubs and was one of our only players in the premiership era that was linked to other Premiership teams. The fact other clubs come in for one of our very few decent players isn't a reason for him to go, we should be concentrating on getting rid of our dead wood, that's where our manager, scouts and army of linked agents associated with our circus of a club should be earning their money from, not setting up deals for the odd player that tried, scored goals, has a heart and was alright.

I've heard similar about Austin, sounds like a bit of a wrong'un. Not sure the bright lights of London are a good idea for a player with a penchant for nightclubs, bugle and birds with questionable morals. Check out this article from a local rag!

He is exactly what we need. Even If we sign a striker, we need his character. Yes he wasn't that useful last season but in the Championship he has proved he is very handy.

But it's not though is it? The English Premier League is probably the best league in the world, and in terms of the best football sides in the world I think you would have to say the top 3 (maybe even top 4 or 5) teams in the Premiership would make the top 10 teams in the world.

What is so wrong with wanting to see players make an effort when they turn out for the team you support? God knows they are getting paid enough money to do so. I understand that you aren't going to win much with a team of players that aren't good enough but try their best.The flip side of that however is you could have the most talented bunch of players on the planet but without the right attitude and work ethic you will also achieve nothing..........we learned this last season!

It winds me up to see lads on here hero worshiping Adel because of what he could be. For me he is the worst type of player because he has wasted every ounce of talent that he has been blessed with. I can guarantee you that if you could give somebody like Mackie the talent that Adel has he would be a world beater!
