  • Quite surprised

.. with the amount of negative, worried and really unhappy fans on the board.

Although we are entitled to our own opinion and I respect that after the season we just had, but I cant help but think that a lot of us fans are not noticing the changes being made to our club.

TF and the board are recouping money and placing policies to stop wrong decisions being made and players feeling like they can do what they want when they want.

Not many teams manage to do all their transfers before Pre season starts, especially deals that are worth a lot of money. So I am not sure why people think that we should have had all this sorted and ready by now. (We have a huge squad to cut down first)

We need to bring it different types of players now. We can no longer pay HUGE wages, HUGE transfer fees. At most we will spend around £8-10 million all together. (Of which my guess will be on 2 new strikers)

Harry is doing exactly what NW did and what a success story that was. We have the basis of a good team already, but we require players who have experienced winning the league. On top of this we need new personnel that are willing to fight and bring a good team spirit. (Because we seriously lack that and without it, we may well struggle again)

Listening to Karl Henry just now made me feel that we might be turning a corner, he was very honest and open and quite frankly his job will no different to the one Derry did when a load of people slagged him before he even played.

Dunne and Simpson will tighten up our back four, and Henry will add depth to the squad as well much need grit in the middle of the park.

Just say we do sign Hooper (Imagine if we get Hooper and Austin) Will this change your mind on our season? IMO we do need at least one top striker brought in for next year as im really unsure on where the goals will come from (Especially if Remy goes)

Seriously guys, lets get behind Henry and Harry's new team.

nobody really thought we would steam roll the championship last time with some of the signings but this has the same feel.
get behind the f@cking team...it won't be for the want of trying.

Why are some surprised that the signing of Karl Henry isn't an exciting prospect for a lot of people?

Most of us wouldn't have given him a second thought, and some would have actively disliked him after our games against them a couple of seasons ago.

Also the assumption seems to be being made that not being ecstatic about a signing, equates to not getting behind the team.

No, what I said was I'm surprised in general with all the negativity of recent transfers etc. Not just the Henry deal...

Any opposition player, good or bad finds it hard at Loftus Road... I regularly pick an opponent player to give hell too home and away just to get under his skin. But once he is a player for QPR, he earns my respect until proven to be useless.

Some of the rubbish being written on here in recent years is embarrassing, some fans reactions to signings is laughable and whilst fans have always had opinions throughout the years, it was normally kept low key as they could only spout off in pubs before games, whilst now message boards, facebook and twitter allow them a bigger audience to massage their ego's. Karl Henry is a low risk decent signing who adds to our squad, if Harry can add a couple more decent signings like Townsend and Hooper or Austin we will be well placed to have a go this season.
I remember very well fans running players down before the start of our Championship winning season, Derry, Hill, Helguson, Tarrabbt it seems all some can do is moan and moan and moan.

I agree with Qpr 4 life we need a different type of player in this league , its not tippy tappy like the premier.

We don't always agree but his point is valid , time to back the owners , manager and fill loftus again.

the problem down at rangers is we tend to unnerve players instead of supporting them deep and that spreads round the ground and affects the team.been going on for years. either very good or pi $$poor.

Agree with that. We are a hard to please bunch, and as powerful a positive as a rocking Loftus Road is, when we're not sure about a player, you can almost feel the collective apprehension when they get on the ball.

Not sure how we can change that though.

Not sure it's any worse now than it was, you just get to see more individual opinions.

I remember it with loads of players going well back before the internet tbf

Little things like the little ripple every time Bardsley (one of the great right-backs we've had) played one down the line and it drifted out of play, and every time Michael Meaker started a run, the crowd knew he would run it out of play, and I'm sure he knew from the crowd's reaction what we expected.

Tippy tappy... Crikey I'd have loved it if we could have managed some tippy tappy whilst in the PL but we could hardly manage to pass a fart let alone the ball... Hence being back in the Championship....:(

                            I'll get behind the team.

Until we get walloped 5-0 on August 3
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
