It doesn't matter what line of work you are in, whether it be professional sports, an office job or anything else, it only takes a few bad eggs to spoil everything. Talent is completely worthless without enthusiasm and desire to do well. If these players don't want to be here and are played against their will we will achieve absolutely nothing, in fact I'd say the chances are that we'd struggle to shake off the losing mentality from last season. Harry is doing the right thing in working with the players that want to be here and excluding the rest of them. Let them rot in the reserves until somebody pays them what they want or they've had enough and agree to a termination or to move on for whatever they can get!

but it is daft to ask players paid champions league wages to play in the championship. they should be able to do that it is still football after all. if they dont want to they can take a pay cut to go elsewhere like arsenal apparently told cesar. take midfield for example-

    park mbia granero hoilet

there you go - those 4 probably earn more than the arsenal midfield - i have heard it said they are all really good players - then play em.

If they are so good why aren't we still in the Premiership?

I honestly believe that football is like anything else in life, it's hard work & determination that gets you where you need to be. Obviously to do well in the Championship we will need a bit of something extra but you won't get anywhere in that league with a squad of players who don't want to be there and are just turning up to get paid!

Has played with HR before so he obviously knows what he's getting, which is a plus.

Versatile, good passer and good set piece taker too I think, which is something we've been gagging for recently.

As long as he stays fit he'll be a very useful player for us.

So what if he ain't some up & coming 21 year old. He is a reliable little player, just the sort to steady the ship & what we need for a long slog in the Championship.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Is he injury prone? Haven't really seen him play for a couple of years. Was a steady player for Pompey. Rather him than Karl Henry that's for sure

                  I give up with today
                  Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                  And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Obviously there are better players out there but I think this is the route that Redknapps going down. Cheap, experienced players that he knows. Maybe TF only given him a small amount of money to spend and he wants to spend it on a couple of strikers.

Yeah he would do fine. Just what we need for the long slog ahead.

                          you got me there tarbie

but look at it that midfield is about a quarter million per week for the 4 of em. not good at all for a club with a small stadium, worse still for a club in the championship, but if they aint even on the pitch, and their replacements are henry/oneil on 50p a week, its just mad!!

As I say Zeb, for me it's mainly down to attitude and desire. Doesn't matter how good a player supposedly is (or what they are being paid), put him in a team full of players that don't want to be there and don't have that will to win, you ain't gonna achieve anything. I think there is probably also an element of some of the players we signed not being is good as we were lead to believe.

We did the big spending route and it got us relegated as we ended up with money grabbing ******s.

This is the type of player we need for a long season in the Championship.Someone who will knuckle down and get on with it and not act the big shot like half the tw@ts we have at the moment.
