  • Left Back or Striker?

League Rules state that you can only have 5 loanees in the match day squad.

Watson, Simpson and Taraabt will more than likely all start against Peterborough and Heaton will be on the bench. This means we only have place for one more loanee in the match day squad. When the loan window opens on Tuesday which position would you prefer us to sign?

    Left Back or Striker?

Obviously we could drop Heaton and have Putnins allowing both a left back and striker to be in the squad but then why sign Heaton and can we afford to annoy Ferguson or Heaton? With so much competition at Manchester United there is a possibility that Heaton may have to leave to find regular football in the future. If we can't even give him a place on the bench he won't want to sign for us. Not only that Ferguson won't be looking to loan us players in the future because we may treat them the same way.

So with that in mind and therefore the real possibility of only have one loanee place left which is more important to you left back or striker? Personally we should sign Michael Ball on a free (he is without a club so we can do this outside the transfer window) and bring in another striker say Marlon Harewood.

I agree with you Michael Ball seems like the perfect answer to our problems at left back! I presume the biggest problem would be wages but then hee's currently on 0k a week so anything will be an improvement!
Someone like Harewood or King on loan would be good too and wouldl give us a very strong team.

If it can only be one though I would go for a striker, having a quality striker will make a far bigger difference than improving our left back!

A striker for me evrytime. We have a problem at left back. But our biggest pronblem is missed chances and lack of goals. A striker who will score us goals will gain us more points than a left back.

I was thinking the same thing the other day....

I think we do have goals in us, but i do think we need another striker. I would have loved a hooper to come in but that hasnt happened.

IMO although its annoying!! we do have players who could slot in at LB (albeit out of there preferred position)...but, should borrowdale be any worse than he already is, we could put someone i.e Connolly at LB.. Not ideal, but you cant go wrong with such a pro.

We could do the same upfront with someone like tarrabt, but a player like Tarrabt imo are better creating for forwards rather than being created for, he sets up he doesnt finish. (fair enough he does have a eye for goal on occasions) WHICH IS GREAT WHEN HE HITS THE NET, but he aint gonna fire us to promotion.

IMO if i was the club id get us a striker in.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Wouldn't surprise if we named 6 loan players in our squad by mistake like Leeds!

And to think we weren't doing 'loans' this season.

I know pete said he had heard we werent doing loans, but do you really care that much if we are!??

I mean yes they arnt "our players"...But, should they play well enough and we progress, the likely outcome is that we will sign then....

be it loan or perm, im just happy that for the timebeing they are here...

Borrowdale imo hasnt made any big individual mistakes, but in general his play is rubbish...

I watch his laid back approach at stopping crosses coming into the box with my heart in my mouth, hes rubbish.

                          Striker is absolute priority.

Can do without a keeper on the bench if need be if we got Michael Ball.Always liked him.

He gets forward well enough, he's alright with his feet, maybe a bit suspect in the air but his general play isn't that bad.

He's yet to face a top winger and I'm not saying that he should stay as left back but he'll do for now, we're not in any real rush to sign another left back whereas we need a striker to start winning games.

Borrowdales slow, can't get down the line to put crosses in and his positional sence seems all over the place. When he comes up against a fast winger we will be in trouble.

Bring in Ball on a short contract and loan a striker.Offer S****horpe a couple on loan in exchange for Hooper.
