Ok Norwich want him but won't pay the fee that Celtic want.
If he doesn't join us I think he will see out the last year of his contract at Celtic

He has to want to play for us, not be forced into it as there is no other more lucrative option. Whether he is a good player or not, if his heart's not in it, then just forget it.
This reminds me of the Hoillett saga last year, who we all agreed was a good player and should have been good for the team. However, he basically had no other better option so came to us purely for financial reasons, and basically played like he couldn't care less.
Tony has said that he wants people here with the right mentality, which is 100% correct, so we need to be very careful and understand player's motives to avoid making the same mistakes again.

I imagine any contract that we would have with hooper would include massive bonuses for promotion, so this would give him incentive to be professional.

It all goes back to what w12ranger said, African lazy laid back ego's.
I really hope we sign hooper and going the british route is the way forward. Our best players have been hill and derry for effort and adding plenty of british players will be a very important factor while we look to build a unity in the side, not having 5 or 6 groups all doing different things and speaking different languages after training out in austria or wherever. You will always be divided like that and it will look like that when they run out on a tues/sat.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Decent players are needed. The obsession some have with keeping it British, or seemingly more importantly not 'foreign' is just narrow-minded, at best.
There are plenty of ****e British players, and plenty of extremely good, hardworking non-British players. Why does it matter where they are from?
