He's a hell of a gamble for a prem club.

I was in Loughton yesterday and my pal who knows him said he isn't saying a word. I find that v strange him not telling his pals.

Maybe he's signed but can't say a word?

Can't see bookies keeping us at this price for as long as they have.

      • Sensible lad to go for the best deal for his career. I think his next move , at 25, is very important for him and QPR is not a step up. Good player and I hope he does well in the future. Maybe we'll sign him in 7 years time.

I think Hoilett will do quite well for us in the Championship.

          • No bookie will give you 13-8 against for a 1-5 or 1-8 shot. Granted we were put in at that price because we bid and have spoken to him. In january we were similar odds to sign M'Vila and we know what happened there.

            • I notice Norwich are now favourites to sign him on oddschecker.

              • I think bookies are **** if you're trying to read into them. They just protect themselfs when bets keep going in
                Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

                • Norwich 6/4 and we're 13/8 haha. Take no notice of that, they're clueless.

Bookies realise people take note of the betting markets and when prices shorten up lots of people assume it's because they have inside information. They are simply shortening Norwich to entice people to back them at a shorter price.

                    They get best info though..

If rangers were that price purely on people betting on hooper then I don't believe it. They do there homework and if we had no chance he would have drifted.

They offered Carlton Cole a new deal & Hooper is better than him I think it's pretty fair to say.

I thought this was an interesting article.
This article hits the nail on the head!

It's all well and good that the likes of Norwich, West Ham and Hull City are being linked with Hooper but so far we are the only club to put our money where our mouth is and meet Celtic's valuation of the player.

What concerns me is this hold up, I'm assuming the player is taking his time to finalise anything just to see what develops with the supposed interest from Premiership clubs. Whilst I can understand why Hooper may be buying himself a bit of time, after all who could blame him for having his sights set on the Premiership, it does worry me that if he does eventually come here it will be for the wrong reasons and he may end up being another signing that doesn't live up to expectations.

I suppose it would be unrealistic to expect a player of Hooper's quality to have QPR as his number 1 destination, but I really do hope that he does end up here he has the stomach for a season in the Championship!

Nobody else has made an offer which Celtic have deemed acceptable yet Yousef. As long as that is the case you have to say that there is still a chance he will be coming to Loftus Road. Do you not remember the Junior Hoilett saga last summer?

I don't know why I have a feeling Norwich will bid the same as our bid. As for Hoilett, look how it ended. By the sound of his performace, it gives an impression he is not interested and If he had gone to another club he would have done better. I am worried the same thing will happen to Hooper If he signs for us becuase he actually doesn't want to join us and wants to be in the PL.
