That makes him a legend? No offence but 4 half decent games in 3 years does not make him a legend. Esp when thinking about the arguments on the Adel thread

This is the thing though isn't it? Fans will always favour a player who gives his all over one who couldn't care less regardless of ability.......and rightfully so in my book. To call Mackie a legend is too much as far as I'm concerned but Taarabt is no legend either, he could have been but he chose otherwise, that's what grates with most fans I believe!

F u c k me if a 'fan' wanted to have a go at one of our lot surely Mackie would be right at the end of the queue.

Might not be Maradona but gives his all unlike some of the others.

Agree but if we let him go for £2 million + and then use that money to get Townsend in then I know who I'd want!

                  Thought he had made it.

That led to a lack of effort and determination that we had seen from him the previous season.

Maybe something to do with management? Lets face it when MH was in charge it wasnt a happy ship

he should stay meybe his effort will rub off on others , he ran past 2 of his own team mates last season to put in a tackle whilst they both watched

Not his biggest fan by any means, but after watching the Promotion DVD a few weeks back it reminded me just how much he contributed in the Championship - Plenty should go before him.

Yeah in the opening games so he did have a purple patch.

Wayne Routledge was a huge improvement and him and adel were just unplayable most of the time.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Fair play that legend is a bit too strong a tag for Mackie but he was a proper handful for a lot of teams in that title season and he clearly loves the club which makes him a top bloke in my book.

Think so many of our fans are fickle and deluded!! How many of you actually remember how much of a impact machine had in the championship when we got promoted - he's very good at that level!! He plays for the shirt and is everything we need at the club right now!!!
We stayed up in the prem with mackie playing more regularly maybe if redkbapp has kept faith with a few more of the payers who gave a **** we'd would of at least gone down with a little pride!! Think a reason why this site has gone down hill a little is some of the stupid posts by fans who have clearly never played foootball in their lives and have grand delusions of how big a club we are!!
Rant over - mackie is a good player he's proved that at this level before if you can remember 3 years ago!!
