We stayed up in the prem with mackie playing more regularly maybe if redkbapp has kept faith with a few more of the payers who gave a **** we'd would of at least gone down with a little pride!! Think a reason why this site has gone down hill a little is some of the stupid posts by fans who have clearly never played foootball in their lives and have grand delusions of how big a club we are!!
Rant over - mackie is a good player he's proved that at this level before if you can remember 3 years ago!!
The irony of calling other fans deluded and having short memories before reeling off the impact mackie had in promotion (when he only played half that season and went 13 games without scoring after his initial agyemang patch) before implying that we stayed up because mackie played more??

He scored some important goals yes, about what 5 maybe 6 in 3 years? And you want to keep him because he had half a decent season 3 years ago? It funny because this is an identical argument to the one in the Adel thread about impact in the past 3 years.

Mackie tried hard and wears his heart on his sleeve, I accept. But that just isn't enough anymore. The sad fact is that he is clearly not a winger and he is not rated as a striker, not just fans on here that think it but neither does Harry and neither did Hughes or Warnock. To me Mackie makes me think of the kid who always won Sportsman/clubman of the year at youth football. Turns up every week, tries hard but you just know that he's not very good.

FWIW I've played football for 23 years and been watching for about as long. Just because people have a different opinion to you doesn't mean they don't know anything about football.

Ive always preferred a player who obviously tries his best for the club ,and Mackie no doubt has always done that . Could have a brilliant season this year if he stays and i really hope he does . Really didnt enjoy the constant bashing he took from a vocal minority of our fans last season .

Agreed. 7 goals in 31 apps first season in the Prem too. Didn't do so great last season but then again who did?

We ain't gonna get Messi so Mackie will suffice for now in the championship mate. The thing is...he will get plenty goals next season, it's not like he's sh!t, he is a decent striker in that league and he'll be important for us.

Mackie is a legend? Are you serious? Bowles Marsh and Francis are legends. So is Macca. Are you placing Mackie in that esteemed company?

Sorry, I think you're wrong. He's a trier, that's for sure, but legend? No mate.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Na that's fair enough and I get that. I guess I just struggle to understand the support for him. His main attribute is is work rate. (so was Parks and everyone hates him!) As I think Matty said on a different thread you could put any one of us on a pitch and we would run around with passion, doesn't mean we should be on the pitch!!

Problem is nik, Harry doesn't seem to rate him as hes barely played since Harry took over. If that's the case then we should offload, otherwise he's just taking up wages, albeit a lot less wages than some!

Why the hell would he do that?

Do not want to see him go, will always put a shift in. He's no Messi, but will always chip in with vital contributions as proven over the past 3 years.
