  • We're only left with Crouch!

    I've always objected on signing Peter Crouch due to his age. With Hooper's bid apparentely rejected and seeing that even Charlie Austin will not join us as well, I think Crouch is the only striker who possibly will accept coming unless we risk bringing a young striker from Holland recommended by Steve McClaren ; the type of strikers like Michu who was unknown and proved himself later. If I was Harry Redknap, I would ask Steve McClaren to bring someone from Holland either himself or through his Dutch connections.

          For a start, we don't know what's happening with Hooper and Austin hasn't even turned us down as far as I know.....

              How about letting an extremely experienced manager do his stuff maybe?

              If we have 4-5m to spend on hooper & we don't get him do you think Harry will say to TF ok no worries we'll get an unknown from Holland? No he will 100% reinvest that money in the next target on the list.

              To much panicking on here. Rela######x

                  Well said Ric. I've said it on here recently and I'll say it again. Our Gaffer is the man 99% of people thought would be in charge of England 18 months ago, his assistant is the former England manager who has recently won the top flight in Holland- no walk in the park considering some of the quality in that league. His back room team have got a ridiculous amount of Premier League and European games under their belts.

                  Everyone needs to stop flapping and working themselves into a panic. They know what they're doing.

                    Last season we brought players from Big clubs, scored lots of goals with other PL clubs: Park, Bosingwa, Zamora, Hoilett, etc. What did they deliver? Nothing because they reached the highest levels in titles and were not hungry for any challenges anymore. Swansea on the other hand brought Michu who was HUNGRY to prove himself on a reasonable price and wage and it worked.

                    Why wouldn't we change our way and stop repeating the same mistake?

                      Well Remy was a bit of an unknown really who delivered like a champ last year. But strikers are not a one size fits all pick and mix, Crouch is different to Hooper is different to Remy is different to etc Crouch flicking it on to someone like Remy would get lots of goals imo - it is a natural partnership - you got to find partnerships.

                        Mark Hughes or Harry Redknapp? I know who I'd prefer signing players.

                        Redknapp signings;

                        Remy - success

                        Townsend - success

                        Jeans - decent

                        Samba - didn't work out but who would if not wanted us to sign him?

                          and I am not saying bring unproven striker. McLaren must know or his connections must know good proven strikers there on much cheaper price.

                            Redknapp will want an experienced striker with history not an unknown quantity.

                              That's his problem, He is not ready to take even little risk like young successful managers. He only wants players who previously played in the PL.
