If you wanna base your opinion of a player on 1 game then yeah, perhaps some potential at Right Back. For me a more sensible approach would be to make an opinion based on all the evidence available, which for me was watching every game he played last season. Personally I think he is an incredibly poor player, not the worst attitude out of everyone Hughes signed but based on ability certainly one of the worst, if not the worst player we've had in the Premiership over the last 2 seasons.

If Arsene Wenger is daft enough to take this bloke off our hands we should get the deal done pronto before somebody shows him some videos of last season!

Also watched every game last season and I can understand why people hate him. He is our version of suarez..always diving and complaining to the ref. He should never take a shot outside the box again, was frustrating as hell to watch him barely making a goalkick as a result from his finishing. A couple of insane moments like the gervinholash and the wigantackle proves the haters right but it also makes us forget that he actually CAN play the game when he wants to...Chelsea away he was terrific, he had luiz in his pocket..Arsenal away until the incident he was great as cb..if played strictly in a vieira position I think we would get most out of him..but I do prefer derry as he would never complain or roll around like Mbia does. Maybe shaun can be his mentor or something? I also watched the exeter friendly and he bossed the midfield in the first half but nobody was gonna give him credit for that..he is now a scapegoat like betty was before and like mackie still is for a few.

Don't get me wrong mate, he drove me mental many times last season but like I said, think he lost interest.

I don't think it was whether he was interested or not. He is simply PONY. I can honestly say I've had turnouts better than him.

Agree with all of this 100% (barring the Suarez comparison ) - especially the last bit.

People saying he relegated us at Wigan: 1) He created our goal that game which people conveniently don't mention, and 2) We were down before that game anyway - Villa relegated us. So, yes, his tackle was pathetic & cost us 3 points that game, but he did not relegate us with it as some like to claim.

He is a bit of a clown at times & a right clumsy farker, but we have far worse players and he is made out by some as alot worse than he is.

Hold on a minute. Suarez has moments of brilliance, is an absolute menace, scores goals and shows commitment. Yeah he looks like a rat and has the same amount of brains as my second little left toe (that's my second toe for the left) but please don't even try and put those two in the same league. Suarez will be sold for £30million + where as M'Bia will be lucky to go for the same price as a hand job off a brass!

If tomorrow there is a headline - BOSINGWA TO BARCELONA, MACKIE TO REAL MADRID - will we see posts saying well if Barcelona and Madrid want them they must be really good players - or just a realisation that summer windows produce random headlines that have little connection to reality.
