  • Austria trip details

    Hi,
I am from Austria and have been QPR supporter since my student years at Brunel university, which were the times of Sir Les and Trevor Sinclair. Looking forward very much to the upcoming trip to Carinthia next week and hope to see a lot of you! Do you have any details on this pre-season tour, e.g. where the team is based and where they will have their training sessions. Is it Seeboden/ Spital an der Drau or does only the first match take place there? Any news is highly appreciated, since i want to chose a camp site close to the training ground. In case you will travel with the team and have any questions about local conditions or whatever, please let me know. The Villacher beer is ok, but if you can get a Stiegl, go for it.

    Cheers,
    Herbert

Welcome to the site Herbert, I didn't even know that we were going out to Austria, I thought Harry wanted to stay at Home?

Hebert, welcome to the site, Austria is such a wonderful country, been their many times skiing.

Sadly will miss the tour due to business commitments, hope you meet up with many fellow R's, have one or two pilsner for me.

        Good luck

          Welcome Berti

I asked one of our other new members recently if they had advantageous assets so it is only fair that I enquire with you if you are known as 'Berti big b ollocks'

On the subject matter I would have loved to have done the tour but I understand the cost of travel is extortionate and those that were considering running a coach have withdrawn from this idea given the cost. Hoping that the club run stream of the game as they did last night

Thanks a lot for your wellcome!

Berti big b ollocks is a good one.
Just checked trips by Ryanair London - Klagenfurt and yes it's a bit expensive and no seats left on relevant days. If you'd get a cheep flight to Salzburg or Munich, then take a train (fares are reasonable), take a tent and stay at one (of the many) camping site the trip should be affordable. But I understand you rather spend the money for away games over the year.

For me it's a great opportunity since I haved seen them live for a while and my family never at all. The typical way I follow the matches is on liveticker having dinner with the family nervously looking down on the smartphone then suddenly bursting out with rants (Wigan goal)
