  • Lack of goalscorers

Anyone else a bit concerned about the lack of goalscorers in our side? I know its pretty early still, but other teams have signed quite a few players and so far we have only signed Simpson, a right back. Zamora is not going to get a lot of goals, AJ could well be off and is a bit of a crock, Remy is surely going to go, Adel is not an out and out striker and looks like his future with us is no more - who else do we have? Harry himself last year said we don't look like scoring so im really hoping we put that right. Apart from Adel, we don't really have any midfielders who will get us goals. Id like to think Harry has got some irons in the fire to get some forwards in. Crouch would be great, but we need some pacy younger players too, otherwise I have no idea how we will score the goals we need

Think a lot of people will be surprised with Zamora's goal return this season, looked good against lesser opposition in some cup games last year. Championships his level and I think he'll do well. Mackie will be our top scorer I reckon, remember he had something like 10 goals before his injury half way through the champs winning season.

Agree need some in because Zamora is crocked, AJ wont last 5 games and Remy will be gone before season start.

Yes, and we've released two proven Championship strikers on top of those. They probably had had their chance at QPR and needed replacing, but they have good experience and decent records at that level.

im not doubting Zamora has quality, i think hes great on his day. But hes got his injury problem, he doesnt have pace, and sits deep. We need some pace, a poacher, and someone who can get 15-20 goals. We made the same mistake last year with Hughes, when we got rid of all our strikers and were left with only Mackie at one point. I have no doubt that Mackie can do a job in this division, bu hes not a natural striker really, we need at least 2 or 3 new strikers in my opinion, otherwise I cant see much success at all

I'm sure HR has some plans on that front. He has already stated that we aren't going to rush into signing players. Just make sure we sign the right type of players.
When Hughes did all his transfer business early, a lot of people were saying it was great as the new signings had time to train and "gel" with the rest of the team - what a crock that turned out to be!

I'm not panicking yet. Another couple of weeks without anything and I will worry.

AJ needs to go, will not score goals and will get injured again

How Harry thinking he can rely on Zamora to get us goals is worrying

Would love to see AJ and Zamora go and get in another couple of strikers

                  Just hope Remy does stays

Completely forgot about Hoilett! He'll definitely have his fair share of the goals.
