This cannot be just TF's vision, but that of the whole board. All of the investors are part of the plan and surely must have agreed to it, Amit included.
There has been substantial investment in the playing squad. Admittedly it didn't work, but TF and the board can't be blamed for the performance of the players purchased by the team management. How was anyone to know Bosingwa, Park and Cisse, champions league winners, would underperform?
I think people are concerned because we're in new territory here. We've never been an investing club and have always sold our best players. Our stadium is antiquated and our youth programme needs development.
TF and the board are looking at a long term plan. It would be nice to see them get on with it without constant bitching about it.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Look at our debts and outgoings now.
Buckets aint gonna cut it next time.
Look at the 2 previous seasons and the ineptness and realise that Tony is a gambler. Some maybe happy to have a gambler throwing money at the club but some are a bit more worried if like the previous 2 seasons Tony's gamble doesnt pay off.
I actually think we will have a good season in the Championship as i dont think even Tony could **** up what we already have in place and i think Harry is a decent manager. Fernandes real test will be if we get promoted at the end of the season and we rise back to the prem. Will he be able to control all his urges to "raise the profile" to benefit himself and his other business's again? Learnt his lessons? time will tell.
If I remember, the shareholders decided to split the investment two ways. Two thirds to TF and his consortium, and a third to Amit/Lakshmi. This is what you're not understanding. They've invested THEIR OWN MONEY. They're risk-taking with their own wedge. They're hardly likely to squander bundles are they? Our owners are highly successful businessmen, not some fly-by-night chanchers.
In time we will have a top-ranking academy and training facility along with a state-of-the-art multi-purpose stadium which will bring new revenues to the club, like stadium sponsorship for example.
Give them a chance to do this instead of resorting to childish name calling.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I agree they are highly successful businessmen but Tony seems intent on promoting his other businesses to make a bit more dosh for himself as well interfering trying to raise our global profile when we all might be better off if he took a step back, stayed off twitter to keep the clubs affairs a bit more private and started acting a bit more professionally instead of coming across like some sort of cuddly clown with naivety issues.
Tony loves PR, self promotion and profile raising but if you look at what he has tried his hand at in the sports industry (us and F1) you do wonder when he might decide enough is enough. The guy is just not that good at it, if he had a racehorse it would be a donkey.Last edited by vblockranger; 06-07-2013, 02:44 PM.

As for saying he's a bad organiser, he doesn't seem to have done too bad at Air Asia and Tune has he?
Here's a list of his achievements:
Fernandes has received several awards for his achievements:
International Herald Tribune Award for the "Visionaries & Leadership Series", for his outstanding work in AirAsia;
"Malaysian CEO of the Year 2003" in December 2003; so far awarded to only nine other recipients in the country, by American Express and Business Times. The award was an initiative to recognize entrepreneurial and managerial expertise and performance among leaders of Malaysian corporations.
Named the joint winner of the CEO of the Year 2003 award by American Express Corporate Services and Business Times.
"Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year" in the Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards" in 2003;
Made the list of Business Week's "25 Stars of Asia" in 2005.
Malaysian Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year 2006"
"Excellence In Leadership - Asia Pacific Leadership Awards 2009"
2010 Forbes Asia businessman of the year[39]
2011 No. 52, in FastCompany Top 100 Most Creative People in Business.[40]
Fernandes has also been honoured by the King of Malaysia with the title Tan Sri, Dato' Sri and also by the government of France with the Legion d'Honneur Order.[41] In 2011, according to a Team Lotus press release, Tony Fernandes was awarded a CBE or Commander of the Order of the British Empire "for services to promote commercial and educational links" between Malaysia and the UK.
