Opinions are sometimes based on educated guesses arent they? Or do you honestly base all yours on what you read about in the papers and hear on the news? i dont believe that btw. Do you not form your OWN opinions?
I try to form my opinions based on some sort of evidence rather than pure guesswork based on nothing but blind hatred.
You should try it sometime.....
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
You know full well there's been objections to the new training ground and why it's not been started yet. Can't blame TF for that one. That's between the council and the protestors.
As for saying he's a bad organiser, he doesn't seem to have done too bad at Air Asia and Tune has he?
Here's a list of his achievements:
Fernandes has received several awards for his achievements:
International Herald Tribune Award for the "Visionaries & Leadership Series", for his outstanding work in AirAsia;
"Malaysian CEO of the Year 2003" in December 2003; so far awarded to only nine other recipients in the country, by American Express and Business Times. The award was an initiative to recognize entrepreneurial and managerial expertise and performance among leaders of Malaysian corporations.
Named the joint winner of the CEO of the Year 2003 award by American Express Corporate Services and Business Times.
"Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year" in the Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards" in 2003;
Made the list of Business Week's "25 Stars of Asia" in 2005.
Malaysian Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year 2006"
"Excellence In Leadership - Asia Pacific Leadership Awards 2009"
2010 Forbes Asia businessman of the year[39]
2011 No. 52, in FastCompany Top 100 Most Creative People in Business.[40]
Fernandes has also been honoured by the King of Malaysia with the title Tan Sri, Dato' Sri and also by the government of France with the Legion d'Honneur Order.[41] In 2011, according to a Team Lotus press release, Tony Fernandes was awarded a CBE or Commander of the Order of the British Empire "for services to promote commercial and educational links" between Malaysia and the UK.
Not too shabby eh?
No he's done alright in business its just his sport affiliations where he has let himself down...maybe take a step back and let someone else have a go? like i said with his record in Sport "projects" he might be better off keeping his head down and acting a bit more professionally by staying off twitter tweeting club affairs to all and sundry. The guy just cant help himself. Great PR guy , sh1t football chairman.

Is it evidence that you have collected yourself? Do you go through his bins? No blind hatred here i actually think he is a nice enough bloke and a good businessman. Just so far his record in sport is pretty sh1t..... cant see how we cant have anything other than a good season coming though tbh. Despite being disadvantaged having him and Phil on board.
Clearly the signing of Asias biggest sporting star by the owner of Air Asia must have past you by Dickyboy.
**** me we have some absolute weapons following this club at the best of times!
What makes you think only your opinion is valid and no one else's? Do you have the monopoly on opinions or should we all bow down to your royal word?
Let's face it, you haven't got a shred of evidence to support your view, however, the former manager of QPR, Mark Hughes, was asked if he wanted to sign Park and he said yes, so the deal was done.

Ok, I concede he's not an acknowledged expert in the sports industry but he's learning, and I think it's fair to say that his track record suggests he will get this right. He needs to be given time and support, not least from the fans.

There's a new training ground/academy about to be built, and the money is now in place for a new stadium which Air Asia will sponsor to help pay off the loan.
This cannot be just TF's vision, but that of the whole board. All of the investors are part of the plan and surely must have agreed to it, Amit included.
There has been substantial investment in the playing squad. Admittedly it didn't work, but TF and the board can't be blamed for the performance of the players purchased by the team management. How was anyone to know Bosingwa, Park and Cisse, champions league winners, would underperform?
I think people are concerned because we're in new territory here. We've never been an investing club and have always sold our best players. Our stadium is antiquated and our youth programme needs development.
TF and the board are looking at a long term plan. It would be nice to see them get on with it without constant bitching about it.
I am not bitching in the slightest. As I've said before, a training ground/academy is good news but as I've already said before this is the MINIMUM requirement for a club of our size in this day and age - thanks to years of under-investment. So this is, I repeat, a good thing. However, that alone isn't enough to me to be so certain that Tony's vision is so indelibly 100% spot on as you seem to suggest. Scores of Chairman have built training grounds and started academies... once again a good thing, but it isn't a guarantee that everything will come through smelling of a roses in the end - so hardly concrete evidence that his 'vision' will come to fruition. There again, how can anyone come up with evidence to support something that hasn't yet happened???
The training ground/academy is a positive thing after quite a few negatives. You quite rightly point the finger at Hughes and co for their screw ups but don't forget Tony's determination to hang on to him when everyone else was saying get rid - not the best example of his vision being spot on there is it? Tony can screw up, he is not Superman after all. However, as you are so keen on evidence, there is a fair bit to suggest him being less than visionary in his dealings up to now. You will also, no doubt, point to the many millions invested in the team. Don't forget, all manager's instructions since TF took over as Chairman has been to 'make high-profile signings – this isn't a secret, this has been told to the gentlemen of the press at many briefings and is also backed up by one former manager, so the big-time Charlies on high-wages are not purely a manifestation of Hughes/Rigg and KJ, a man who was advising TF on all football matters when he arrived, despite the warnings of other chairmen not to get involved with him. So once again, not brilliant judgement.
Using pejorative terms like bitching is clouding the discussion, as a fan of 40-odd years standing, I am perfectly entitled to question SOME of the actions of the people running our club. I have no hatred for TF in the slightest - his arrival meant the departures of those buffoons. However, I confess to still being a bit wary of his intense one-man marketing/twittering way of doing things. The ground is the key thing here, rather than QPR, so I think it is quite right that supporters keep a keen eye on their interests. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a bit of healthy scepticism and a few checks and balances.

Well argued post.
You speak of checks and balances, which is a good thing, but don't you think Amit and the other two shareholders provide this? I'm sure if they thought things weren't right there would be objections. I fully believe the fans should keep an eye on things, however, I object to some of the name-calling of the chairman by some fans.
I see nothing wrong in the building of a new academy/training ground, a new stadium, and investment in the team. My beef is with those who were paid to do jobs which they failed miserably at. Hughes, Rigg, and KJ, as well as a number of players.
I also agree that we hung onto that lot longer than we should have, but you might recall that many in the football world said Hughes should be given more time. Discussions on here at the time were about stability because of our hire-and-fire history.
I'm convinced TF has learned a lot over the last two years and this should benefit our club greatly.

Easily the best, most forward thinking and committed chairman this club has had since Mr Gregory. I find it quite astonishing that, with such an incredible track record in business, people are so quick to deride him after the last couple of admittedly shambolic seasons, which of course had far more to do with Hughes and his gang.
Do you think Air Asia was an immediate success? Or maybe he had a blip or two there before getting it right.
Everyone has a right to be concerned and even sceptical. But just dishing out abuse to someone who is so obviously trying to do his best for us and what is right for us, is not really very fair. Until such time as he demonstrates he doesn't care about us, like those that went before him, he will be getting my total support and backing.
For crying out loud, give the bloke a chance. We've hardly hit rock bottom yet, have we? We have the best squad in the division and it will get better. We are favourites for promotion, justifiably. There will only be one person to blame if we mess up this season and he has made it clear that he agrees. The same one who was far more to blame for our relegation than TF, but who has still been given another chance. And I suppose that we should be backing him too, provided he does as he says he will.

I tend to agree with Brighton.
Far too many blaming Tony yet they're the same one's, ie Vblock saying Harry is the real deal.
Harry isn't the real deal and nor is Mark Hughes.
2 buffoons that have been backed to the hilt with decent money to spend. Both have got it completely wrong so I think the fingers should be pointed at the managers, 2 men paid handsomely to deal with on field matters.
If you think Tony is involved in Transfer then yes we clearly have a problem but i'd very much doubt harry would be putting up with someone pulling his strings, allbeit he is being paid too much money so you never know!
