  • Ehiogu on McClaren coaching appointment at QPR

Former Middlesbrough defender Ugo Ehiogu joins Ian Danter to share his thoughts on his former Boro manager Steve McClaren’s coaching appointment at Queens Park Rangers.

The ex-centre back believes McClaren can help invigorate the Super Hoops with his unique and rewarding training style.

Ehiogu describes his former manager’s techniques as “bright and enjoyable, but purposeful”, and says that it his training sessions at Middlesbrough were “refreshing”, adding that McClaren’s experience and knowledge will be beneficial to the team as well as manager Harry Redknapp.

McClaren was always a better coach than a manager, SAF took him to united when they won the treble in front of the now united manager. The England managers job ruined him as it has a lot of others.

The England managers seat is the same as Chelsea's. it's near impossible to do a goo job there & managers don't show their true colours
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Harry was saying he wants Mac to take players away and work with them individually to get them playing and understanding the game more. Cited the way Dutch and German teams play, could be a real coup
this the way others have praised him up. Could do Adel the world of good, and make him a better all round player

He is a very good coach so i have no problem, other than what are we paying Harry for if he needs so many ****** coaches to sort the team out. Said this before when he was so lauded up as a great at Spurs thet he has so many coaches / assistants you wonder why he gets so much credit himself.

But then why not use coaches who can bring something different to a club. Good management,....lets just give the bloke a go with his own players added to a pre-season

Because Harry brought them all in, as he did at Spurs. Listen to his interview on talksport this morning and he answers your very question. At Spurs it produced the results on the pitch, if it does the same thing with us then it's money well spent. McLaren definitely brings a lot to the table. It also gives the coaches the chance to break off into smaller groups with the players and work more at their game. Harry always likes talented coaches/pros with good ideas, McLaren was out of work and he saw him as a waste of great talent that could be brought in to help and improve the squad.

Managers manage staff to do jobs they need them to do.

                    Great appointment.
